Weighing only 0.56 ounces (16 grams), the Black Hornet looks like a tiny toy helicopter. But it's really a nano-size piece of military hardware unlike anything on the battlefield today...
The Black Hornet nano drone, which can be carried in a soldier's pocket, has an onboard camera that gives troops video and still images of hard-to-access places.

That same drone can (and will) be sent to your neighborhood. Soon ... very soon.
You beat me to it.
I want one.
A target load of #8’s should do the trick.
Then reload with 00 and wait for whomever comes after their missing drone!
They’ll use the remote controlled roach cyborgs to break into domestic buildings.
Release the EMP balloons!
A tennis racket will come in very handy.
I’ve said it everytime the drone-paranoia threads pop up - this genie is out of the bottle. The technology will become so small and cheap it will be ubiquitous and you’ll see drones (or better put, micro air vehicles carrying wireless video) become as common as smartphones (which will be used to control them). Trying to regulate them will be as futile as trying to regulate mobile phone use.
It’s small enough and quiet enough that you would need to be really lucky to even know that there was anything around that needed shooting.
Battery life could be a problem unless there is a technology I don’t about regarding mini-copters. Average flight time about 7-15 mins max even with the highest output batteries.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
THIS!
“Average flight time about 7-15 mins max even with the highest output batteries.”
That may be all the time they need to order up a colonoscopy. Stat!
Wait till the people on smokinggun.com get them. And the pedophile down the street. And your daughters crazy ex boyfriend. And the psychopath you inadvertently cut off at the intersection on the way home from work.
etc.
Fun times to be had by all!
And wait till the next Tsarnaev brothers get one. They can do their damage while sipping a latte at Starbucks. And no one need by any wiser.
Paranoia is best accomodated with by one of these.........
Keep your shades drawn.
There have been major battery breakthroughs with nanotechnology. This will soon cease to be a limiting factor.
