When our readers tell us they want more of something in this case, stories about cats because who can ever get enough of those? we listen. And we want that same listening spirit to extend to whoever might be able to set up a service that brings kittens to your door for some playtime and cuddly cat times in every town across this great country we call home.
As I type these words and you read them, theres a magical event underway in Seattle, New York and San Francisco: To celebrate National Cat Day, car service Uber has teamed up with Cheezburger to bring kittens to the people.
Heres how I Can Haz UberKITTENS works, as explained on Ubers blog its essentially a service that will bring you a bunch of kitten friends for a limited amount of time:
1. Download the Uber app for iPhone or Android
2. Between 11am 4pm today, request the KITTENS! option via your app
3. If the furry friends are available, you and your buds will be enjoying 15 minutes of snuggles and cupcakes made by the famous Ace of Cakes, Duff Goldman and his team at Charm City Bakery.
The $20 is charged directly to your Uber account, and all of the proceeds will be donated to local shelters in each participating city, with the option to donate more as well as to adopt some of the kittens. That all depends on well those kittens snuggle, of course.
I dont know why we cant have this all of the time, everywhere, because its a win-win. A win for kittens because they get snuggled and a win for humans also because we get snuggled. Or at least batted at with tiny, adorable needle claws. So cute. Act fast though kittens are limited. KITTENS.
"Thanks for the link, Gefn!"
I'd like a dozen please
So, is this kid still alive?
They don’t have Chinese take-out in some places??

Isn’t this just the cat’s pajamas? Pussy delivered to your door.
Let’s all order a trainload of cats shipped to the White Hut.
Awwwwww. I think I have adopted a 9 year old cat, much to the consternation of my husband. There was an elderly lady at church this weekend wearing a jacket that was embroidered with “My best friends are my 2 collies” on the back and pictures (in embroidery) of her dogs. We smiled at her and told her that we liked her jacket.
The next thing we knew, she was pressuring us to take a cat that belonged to her friend who had been admitted to a nursing home. The cat would have to be put down if they didn’t find a home because nobody could take him. Guess who offered to take him?
Right now the adoption depends upon the cat’s check up with a vet (their idea). Unfortunately “Peanuts” is a front declawed male, so he can’t go outside. I don’t know if he has been neutered. I really don’t need a cat, but I don’t want to be responsible for him being euthanized either.
Everybody hold a good thought for me and the cat and my disappproving husband.
Some assembly required.
Thank You! The Bell Still Echoes! May the kittahs roam and may each of us be prepared!
You like little foreign boys ?
Sounds as sensible as a fried puppy delivery service.
At least there’s a customer. In the WH.
Do you still sell crack?
Pray tell me why a front de-clawed male cat cannot go outside.
dunno. Good picture to give “scale” to the snake.
I can’t imagine anyone would go to the trouble and expense of declawing a cat without neutering him. Older cats adapt pretty easily, and I think everything will be fine. Perhaps you could post a picture later?
He would be unable to defend himself if attacked.
Congratulations on your new family member.
I, for one, welcome our new feline overlords.
