That looks stomach churning.

You don't mix salty with milky/creamy, or salty with sweet. It simply is not done.

Yes, it is done. My favorite is salt on my watermelon...try it.

Like Salted Caramel? Hamburger and Milkshake? Margaritas?

No, salt and sweet are like peas and carrots (there you go again). Two great tastes that taste great together.

Tell THAT to Wegmans grocery chain: chocolate-covered peanut butter-filled pretzel nuggets. Small jar costs more than a large jar of same sans chocolate, and NO, you can’t eat just one handful of the salty-sweet-crunchy goodness that it is.

Sugar and salt are basic to most confections and bakery items. Potatoes with chocolate would be the problem for me.

Oh you are so wrong. Salt and chocolate go GREAT together. Salt and sweet go GREAT together. It’s done, it’s done a lot, and the people who do it get fat because it tastes oh so good.

sure it’s done - all the time. In fact most of my relatives eat watermelon with salt, and some (myself on occasion) apple pie with cheese..... there are all sorts of culinary adventures that await... just open your gullet ... I mean mind... ;)

I dunno, the chocolate/caramel/sea salt craze has been going strong for around five years now. With the right chocolate, the sweet & salty mix is a winner.

Salty and sweet goes together great. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Margaritas. PayDay candy bars. Chocolate covered pretzels. Baked beans with bacon. etc., etc.

I had chocolate covered potato chips a number of years ago. It was good, but nothing to get really emotional about.
