Meet Erin Wotherspoon, a 24-year-old broke actress and self-described foodie. This summer, she became a serial first-dater in order to check off her Toronto restaurant hit list and blog her reviews.

Bowling for dollars was awesome!
Degenerate serial daters, not so much
When I was younger, we had a name for these women: “Dinner whores”
1st date dinner dates are for suckers.
If a girl likes you, she will like you regardless if you spend $10.00 on a date or $100.00 or $1000.00
In fact, the more you spend, the more uncomfortable many women will feel as they will feel a sense of obligation and/or that you are trying to “buy” their company.
You are basically sub-communicating that you think she’s a whore that can be bought with expensive dinners and insulting her.
One of the most amazing and beautiful women I ever dated, who was absolutely crazy about me and was my girlfriend for over a year didn’t give a hoot about fancy dinners and such.
Our first date was at a McDonald’s.
Dating tip #2: If she drove then walk her to her car. It shows you are concerned about her safety and gives you a chance to check out her bumper stickers. When I was doing this research I had to look out for ‘Gore Lieberman’, ‘Kerry Edwards’ or ‘Lick Bush’ stickers. Now apparently there is some zero symbol which is the primary harbinger of an ominous fate.
“My wife, I tell ya, Johnny, our first date was at a McDonalds.” - Rodney Dangerfield.
I’ve heard that one before.
I agree but some those do apply because of the way women can be. Men need to protect themselves from the wiles of women.
I’d hit it.
Tom Lykis is about as subtle as a sledge hammer, but I agree with about half of his “rules”
And women have their dating rules as well, and they are far more conniving and ruthless in many cases.
She’s an amateur. Most of the failed actresses here in Hollywood do it better than her.
The interesting part is the statement of who she’ll date and bang - implying the dinner may actually yield sex for the guy.
At which point, she’s a literal food whore.
And in that case, not actually deceiving the guys who are hoping to get laid in exchange for dinner.
If I were a guy (and I’m not) a mouth like that would scare the crap out of me.
The gods of karma do not like to be mocked
All I can do is hope that my daughters never dates a man that would look at these rules and think they are helpful. A man like that deserves a conniving woman.
No. Because all the guys are buying her food. She only sleeps with the ones who (for whatever reason) she decides to. So she's not doing it for the food.
You mean her actual mouth, or the way she talks?
“My self-Summary: I am an organization fanatic. Dont go a day without my day planner. Always on the go! I love my job, Im always working away! Being a full-time cop isnt easy. Ball busting 101 is my class of choice. Dont let the pretty face fool you. I also love Poerty. What am I doing with my life? Eat. Sleep. Be a cop.”
Hmmm...

Anybody still enraged?
If they have never actually had a date that would explain it.
For me “Dinner and a Show” meant McDonald’s and Hawaii Five-O.
You have to remember that the guy who came up with those rules is an atheist and has been married and divorced four times.
Those are his rules from his perspective. He’s basically saying to men, especially young men, do not let women take advantage of you especially the kind that is in this news article. Men today still teach their sons the same basic thing although I hope from a better moral and ethical perspective. There’s nothing wrong with teaching your sons or daughters how to stay away from the wolves in life.
Take for instance his rule about women being dream killers. That’s only partially true. Women are very much, if you find the right one, dream enhancers/makers/amplifiers. Just look at the success stories of American men. Behind each of their successes was a woman great woman who was the invisible hand and without her it would not have happened.
