Tom Hanks is a talented actor (that's someone who can memorize at least one paragraph of dialog written by another).
Unfortunately, he is also another Hollywood Obama worshiper, albeit a relatively quiet one, who, along with Spielberg and several others, grasp the financial rewards for positive portrayals of the United States military. Projects such as "Saving Private Ryan", "Band of Brothers" and now this new one.
How sadly hypocritical that these Hollywood types continue to support politicians out here in the real world like the Clintons, Obama, most of the radical left crew from the Left Coast (Algore, Pelosi, Waxman, Boxer, Feinstein, George Miller, etc.) who, at their cores, disdain those same military men and women upon whose backs and lives these creatures profit.
It's just me but I've decided to consciously AVOID the films and other projects put forth by these folks.
Yup, that’s what I did when I went to see Machete. I figure since these libs are in fvor of illegal immigration, I could immigrate from the movie bought a ticket to support and see something else.
It was smarter of the old style Movie corproations when they kept their stars under wraps.

Like they did with Rock Hudson and probably countless others.
I don’t blame you one little bit, rlmorel, for not wanting to buy GM crap anymore after your discovery. I already don’t..so therefore no need to adjust my cereal prefs.
As for Lib actors, hold your ground. I caved and feel awful about giving George Soros Clooney any of my money. And Sandra, the good witch, is just as bad, I hear.
Nooo...rl...you are the one with principles and you should stay strong. You are standing on the shoulders of our forefathers and Ronaldo Magnus is looking down upon you and smiling.
Take your wife out for breakfast, to a foreign film with unheard of actors or watch Netflix(Brit mysteries like Foyle’s War and George Gently) or Masterpiece theater on PBS(I know, I know) if you must view something together. Theaters are dirty, overpriced, and how often do you walk out of a movie saying, “WTF?”. These films that your wife can’t wait to see will be out on DVD soon enough.
Have you attempted Breaking Bad yet? I’m in that cave at the moment. When I’m not watching it, I’m thinking about watching it.
I really dont read that much anymore, but a good book on a winter night, beside the fire, is hard to resist.
Agree mylife..but see my post to rl for alternatives.
well said pallmallman.
Guenevere: Are you talking about Unbroken being a good book?
What’s it about?
I’ll give Hanks credit for “Return with Honor” which amazingly enough was a PBS project. He was slightly amusing on “Bosom Buddies.” Other than that...meh.
He was good in “Bachelor Party.”

GO INTO A MULTI SHOW CINEMA AND BUY A TICKET OTHER THAN THE ONE WITH THE LIB IN IT THEN SIMPLY GO TO THE ONE YOU WANT....
I’ve heard that some theaters showing conservative movies (such as American Carol, Fire Proof and Courageous) have rung up a ticket for a different movie to hurt the film makers. Can’t confirm the veracity.
I will not go to the theater to see Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Susan Sarandon and many others. However I will watch their movies on TV as long as there is no additional marginal cost.
That sounds ridiculous. Theater owners don't care what films people come to see. They only care that they buy $6.00 boxes of popcorn.
I’ve been avoiding their idiotic movies for a couple decades now. I don’t feel like I’ve missed a thing.
Would you cross the street to pee on em if they was on fire?
Nope, unless there were no other fire extinguishing means available. I can see where pissing on it could be a last resort

I forgot about that one. I hear he’s slated to also narrate a new one titled “Failure of The Willful”.
I should have qualified my remarks by adding “lately”.
When I was turning over command, besides the usual stuff, I gave my relief the latest information about piracy and my observations about same. His reply was he had gotten some kind of letter saying it was no longer a problem and didn't want to hear any more. I was speechless. This from a guy who turned over the ship with bent a steel foremast and bent steel rails from slamming into seas to keep schedule. They had already removed the damaged containers. (Later found the F&A main deck beam cracked)
I have sailed with my share (I think I got somebody Else's share too)of arrogant a$$es.
I may watch it streaming on Netflix someday. But pay $8.00 ea. and more for eats? Are you kidding?
