Some of the comments are good;

And all this for a mere 20 times the MSRP, of the original Z28. While the original Z28 was made so that a regular working guy could have an awesome fast car for driving to work, cruising on summer nights, and taking to the track on weekends, this new one is made for the upper income/enlarged prostate/country club/AARP member type to stash in his garage, wax monthly, show off to his golf buddies, and flip at Barrett-Jackson in a couple of years for a killing.

Meh, today’s average working guy can afford something fast, it just won’t appreciate and it requires occasional parts / work.

18436572 - Firing order of GM V8 engines. I know that because I was a GM guy for my entire previous life. Loved Chevy.

Now, I couldn't care if they sold this Z for $1, I'll never touch a another GM vehicle as long as I live.

If we lived in a just world, they'd be out of business and the CEO would be found hanging in a janitor's closet.

Have a buddy with a newer Camaro, 2011. It’s already starting to rust as paint has just chipped away by itself where there are no dents. The interior trim is starting to fall off and he’s had to bring it in several times for a timing problem which seems to crop up all by itself, even after it’s been “fixed.” GM is doing nothing for him on the rust and paint.

Government Motors can go screw themselves. Even when I rent cars now I will choose the company that can promise I will not end up with a Government Motors vehicle.

And how would a 'regular working guy' have been able to get his street machine on the track on a weekend?

What on Earth is an ad for an Obamamobile doing on FreeRepublic?

The government gift of GM to the very union thugs that destroyed that once great company has destroyed the life savings of every american due to wiping out the constitutional protections of bonds (contracts).

Totally inappropriate here.

Nice ride, but I wouldn’t buy one, or any vehicle built after the 1995 model year. If you worked in the auto industry in engineering or development, you would know what that date represents. As for all of the domestic bashers out there, your toyota, honda, chevy, ford, and dodge use parts that come from the same chinese factories. All you are buying is a name, nothing more. Built in the US does not exist, only “assembled” in the US, with parts from the third world.

I have a 67 Camaro convertible I’m restoring and upgrading to the hilt. While you can buy a 500hp plus new Camaro, they weigh between 3800 and 4100 pounds versus 3200 for my convertible. My 350 HP homebuilt is quite fast enough thank you.

Plus, mine is infinitely repairable! and upgradeable! and will be on the road long after I’m dead and buried. And long after most 2014 Camaros are in the boneyard.

Some years back a design student came up with the above concept.

I think Chevy should've gone with this instead of the design they actually used.

When it goes on sale, expect prices to be more than the $55,055 base price for the Camaro ZL1. And don't expect it to be a vehicle for the masses: "It's not for everyone," Oppenheiser said.

I think we should "give" everyone a $60K car, like we "give" away ObamaPhones and "free" ObamaCare.

All we would need is a tax on the rest of us.....like putting a black box in all our cars to tax our mileage. Oh....wait. They are actually planning on doing this now.

A black box in your car? Some see a source of tax revenue

Amen to whoever made the comment about the cheap plastic trim on these cars breaking after a year or so.
