If only to make room for Charlie Feathers.

Hmm ... the only one I really disagree with removing is the Eagles — the others’ contributions to rock and roll is nowhere near the Eagles’. I think they absolutely belong there — and while they’re at it, they should induct Warren Zevon in place of some of those that are being deleted.

REM should be removed just for “Shiny Happy People”
Dennis Leary said it best:
“Shiny Happy People— Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey! Pull that bus over to the side of the pretentiousness turnpike, all right? I want everybody off the bus. I want the shiny people over here, and the happy people over here, okay? I represent angry gun-toting meat-eating f-—ing people, all right? Sit down and shut the f-— up.”

Fun article, and I don’t disagree with some of the picks. But the guy is WAY wrong on The Eagles, IMHO. Their early stuff, in particular, is fantastic. To this day I still keep a copy of Eagles’ Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 in the car for long drives. The miles just slip by when that one is playing. Don’t so much care for the later sound with Joe Walsh (nothing against Joe, the whole band was going a way I didn’t like).
As for Henley and other solo Eagles...eh. I hated most of Henley’s solo work, but Boys of Summer is a classic, and Glenn Frey’s “Party Town” album is a lot of fun.
I also agree with the poster who says its time to get Warren Zevon in the HoF. Excitable Boy is a brilliant album, start to finish.

Don't keep track of such things, but any truth to the rumor that KISS is blackballed because of conservative leanings?

I agree with most of the picks. The eagles mellencamp and rush gotta stay. I need a lover that won’t drive me crazy has a 20 hour intro. Rush from 1975 to 1989 was amazing. Hotel California. nuff said.

Why is there a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Whole thing is ludicrous.
Therefore, it really matters nothing who is in it.

Somebody needs to work on getting rid of the "redskins" or taking the Indian out of Indianapolis, Indiana (where the NCAA lives to get rid of Indian "mascots".

Just change the name to the Pop Music Hall of Fame, and then even more acts can get in.

My complaint with this story is that it limits the ones who should be outed to 15.
The R&R Hall of Fame is a giant circle jerk anyway.
