That’s rather amazing. Of course if this was in the US, OSHA would cite the employer for no hard hat....

They don’t have “managers” that stifle innovation.

When I was in Mexico I saw a kid about the same age running a crane as they built a new high rise hotel.

It’s not just the Chinese. It’s pretty common outside of the US.

If American corporations get American workers to live like Chinese workers under a Chinese government, then we can compete. Plus they would be expected to vote for their choice of Republican candidate.

well at least it gets the kid out of jail (as so many public schools seem to be these days)

the point is, he’s competent and, from what we can see, has a good work ethic.

often, today’s public schools provide training for neither of these important employment characteristics.

That kid is an expert driver it seems. When my hubby was in elementary school, he and all his family chopped cotton and harvested peanuts for a living.

Likewise, plenty of children learned to drive tractors, and help out on the family farm. I used to sit in grandpa’s lap and drive the old sedan. I also used to help milk the cows, gather eggs etc.

When I was thirteen, I had a full time summerjob babysitting 3 kids all in diapers or toddler pants. When I was 14, I went to work as a waitress and wanted to work more than the law would allow.

My kids never had these experiences, but I am glad that I did. It was a lot more satisfying and productive than watching tv and playing video games.

Not that I am advocating child labor or anything. Just thinking about old times, and how that helped develop a work ethic instead of a dependency mentality.

Of course we can, but our government refuses to allow it.

We should ban all goods made by slave labor. That would keep Chinese junk out of our country. Then we should put a 100 percent tariff on Chinese goods. Then we should make a deal with the ROC.

China is an enemy nation, out to destroy us. We need to take whatever measures are needed to keep them from infesting our country, economy, and society.
