WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I NEEDED A SECOND PERSON TO HELP ME PUT UP THE BIG NET ROOM?

Well, it's up and all veggie plants in grow bags are in the net room, plus the Giant Zinnia plants as they are still small enough a size a critter could eat them. Didn't put the Hummingbird plant and Lantana in there as they are really big now and safe to be on their own outside the net. The Sesame flowers are really tall and also safe on their own outside the net.

When I say it's up, it didn't happen fast. The covered dirt garden slants toward the front and that makes it uneven for me to balance. Wayne was afraid I would lose my balance and hit the ground. I didn't fall, but it was iffy a number of times dealing with the slanted ground and holding up the aluminum frame and working on the net at the same time. Had to move plants out of the way for a while, lots of bending and uneven ground. I had to lift it on and off the holder several times and that was the worst as it is rather heavy to deal with on uneven ground. WERE YOU THERE TO HELP? NO. :o)

Add in it would start raining and I had to go inside, rain would stop, I'd go back out in the 100% humidity and sweat some more working on the blasted net room. It just won't totally quit raining/sprinkling/light rain. So, I stayed in with rain but went back out in the sprinkling/light rain.

I was determined to get that thing up and those plants inside that net room. I didn't put water in the ring of the base of it because I had had it by the time I got it totally up. It still needs adjusting, as in some places the net is bunched together more than other places and I'll deal with that when it isn't raining. I don't think a squirrel can figure out how to lift the ring around the bottom and get in as the ring has some natural weight holding it down.

I unzipped the door to work inside the net to help get it on and that's where I can spread the net to get it even all around. I'm not through arranging the plants but at least they are in there.

I guess you'd like to visit now and sit in the net room and have a cup of coffee among the plants. The little red hen says, “NO, you didn't suffer putting it up.” :o) Actually, you can sit in there if you want. :o)

I forgot to mention, a squirrel came into the garden this morning (before the net room was up) and Prissy was out there so it decided it should leave. The freaking squirrels are NOT going away but the net room will keep them away from those plants - I’m counting on squirrel depression suicide when they can’t get in there.

WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I NEEDED A SECOND PERSON TO HELP ME PUT UP THE BIG NET ROOM?

I have one of those 10 X 12 fabric patio/gazebo things on my deck. They only last a couple of years before the fabric tears, or the frame starts failing. The directions always say "two persons"..especially because it requires holding things, and snapping other things onto it while up on a ladder.

I usually drink some beer before undertaking putting it up by myself so, I won[t worry about falling off the ladder, hurting my back, etc. I hate asking someone to help me as it's so nice to have a strong helper monkey, that then I wish I had someone to help me all the time.

BTW, I have "rescued" trapped squirrels that have gotten trapped in the mosquito netting curtains on it while the squirrel was escaping from a cat.
