“Zero tolerance” has consequences. Hope that Principal is proud of them self for taking something that should have been a suspension at most into a criminal case.

If I were his parents, I would do my best to take every penny that school has or will have for the next 100 years.

Campbell added that that the incident was not just a prank and needed to be treated seriously.

No, it was just a prank, and now the kid's dead. Feel better?

If there was any justice in the world, this same administrator would have to repeat all his words in front of the boy's casket.

The whole sex offender registry is beginning to look a bit stupid. My own small town has 1700 “offenders” spread like peanut butter across the county. If you read the offences, he was 17 and she was 16 and it occurred in 1978. Thirty years go by and that’s still there. Probably we have all done something at some point that today would qualify us for this farce.

Once everybody is on the list, nobody is on the list. Time to evaluate who the predators are and cleanse the rest off the list.

This is the problem with ANYTHING government does. It becomes mindless and pointless. Somebody is charged with putting people on lists and that’s what he/she does 40 hours per week. Then, they retire, having added nothing to anybody’s safety.

Cutbacks in school funding have stretched counselors so thin that this is the result. We need more funding and more counselors.

A sex offender registry?

Yes, I can see how a 15 year old might think their entire life was ruined over a dumb prank.

Laws and legal system run amok. Our “society” was front and center responsible for helping to push this kid over the edge.

Yeah, he already had some issues. What teenager doesn’t? But to threaten him with a sex offender registry? I have no words. What kind of outcome did they THINK would happen when you take a prank and turn it into a lifetime stigma then let a 15 year old mind decide on the best course of action? They literally threatened to take his whole future away over a PRANK.

The principal and administrators behind this are murderers, period.

Zero tolerance is the abdication of teaching, and its replacement with a merciless and cruel penal system.

Their are few groups of people in the country as cold-bloodedly vicious as public school teacher and administrators. By and large, they are sadists. And many of them are insane.

The school couldn’t handle it on their own. They just had to thrust him into the legal system. Think twice before you put your kids into public schools run by administrators who’ll think of nothing of ruining your kid’s life.

Hope the SOB is happy.

Wow I did not know that. Being naked is in itself a sex offense? Wow, all that nude beach goers better watch it and I hope the cops are present when babies are born so they can immediately arrest those damn sex offenders.

The imperious attitudes and hysterical over-reactions to mostly harmless student violations of some school rule that these ‘educators’ use to punish teens and even elementary school children demonstrates a serious problem in our public schools. Its bad enough that our children are not receiving a useful education. Worse yet, too many teachers and principals act like they were the Nazi Gestapo and our kids are fair game for any kind of punishment the ‘administrators’ feel like handing out. Even to the point of punishing little kids for ridiculous ‘offenses’ such as using their thumb and index finger to momentarily pretend its a ‘gun’. Meanwhile they can’t seem to get a handle on the ‘bullying’ problem in our schools. Perhaps because the real bullies are the administrators. This has to end.

Last night my school had a choral program at which point one of the groups did a number with choreography where the kids pretended to shoot a gun... all 30 of them... at once. I kept waiting for someone to freak out...

That aside - I call this ‘institutional thinking’. Entire communities have abdicated their God-given rights to the state and believe that their every action is governed by said state. We call the police, arrest, punish and condemn people in ways that used to be handled simply and thoroughly in the confines of the household at best or the community at worse all without putting anyone in handcuffs or on a list.

Hell the whole thing is worse than putting someone in the stocks on the public square.
