These moronic hunters actually shot and killed a rare albino moose

My, don't they look proud. But after shooting this rare albino moose near Belle Cote in Nova Scotia last week and posting the pics to social media the trio has sparked considerable outrage, particularly among the region's Mi'kmaq indigenous community.
These guys breached a kind of unwritten code of conduct that has also upset many in the hunting community.

If an albino moose was so important the local natives should have captured it and kept it in a safe place.
A local wild animal farm has several of these critters hanging around.

Don't ya just love the "it's rare, it's special,,,so we gotta kill it!" mindset? Actually, the hunters treated it like any other moose during hunting season. It's the Mi'kmaq community and others that are pushing the "rare, special" nonsense.

It just occurred to me that if all mooses were white, winter coat, they would have camo to protect them from wolves
That would of course offer no protection to sisters from biting, especially in winter when the white moose could sneak up unseen.

"
Those mormon hunters should be ashamed!!!"
How is it that these hunters are "morons?" Their not the ones that got shot. If this white moose was indeed some "ancient ancestor" it should have known, by experience, how to run and hide from said hunters. If you ask me the moose was the moron.

I am sure the hunters think they are ‘all that’ and after a skim of the comments, many agree. The hunters should have shot the moose with nothing more than a camera.
To: chessplayer
It’s a moose; there are many more. I prefer Costco for my meat; but I support hunters right to hunt 110%.
Not sure why people have their panties in a wad due to the fact it is a albino.

It is moronic because it is worth far more alive than dead. Worth more...to whom? If not harvested by the hunters the value to them would have been zero. Obtaining the meat makes it infinitely more valuable to the hunters than zero. If they also gave value to the hide that makes it more valuable still to the hunters. So, to the hunters that found the moose it was worth far more dead than alive. So, once again, who is to benefit had they not shot the moose?

Let's just say that what they did was wrong (I don't think so but just for sake of argument)
What type of gun should they have used instead of a semi-automatic to make it less terrible? What would have been a more appropriate range than 300 yards?
