Obamacare- What happens if I don't pay the penalty?

I've been perusing the options at healthcare.gov and ran across this interesting factoid:

That's right. Your real property won't be liened, you won't lose your driver's license and you won't go to jail.

All that needs to be done is to adjust your W-4 exemptions so that your withholding matches your tax liability as close as possible. Won't take long for the "millennials" to figure this out.

Post script- I'm not enrolling and I'm not paying the penalty. F*** 'em.

I am not enrolling in Obamacare either.
Any Obamacare-related mail is going to the shredder.
Any Obamcare phone callers will get hung up on.
I am not paying the penalty.
For routine checkups, I will pay in cash.
For serious illnesses, I will make payment arrangements or seek private charity.

Do not comply with Obamacare.

When people increase their deductions there will be a huge drop in the amount of taxes being sent to DC every quarter. That’s going to hit them hard. Then watch for a new IRS rule that you can only claim your actual deductions.

Then again, they can’t have been that stupid. The 30 hour rule. The 50 employees rule. The penalty with no means of enforcement. This is more than likely nothing more than a way to destroy this economy. And thus destroy the country.

They will just take away your exemptions. First they’ll take away your church tithing donation exemptions unless you’re Muslim and donate to a mosque. Then they’ll wok on the others. Golfing equipment will be deemed as tools of the trade and exempt of course.

Many ‘targeted’ by this get EIC. Will their EIC be reduced by the penalty?

This has been talked about on FR, but not as much as it should be.

The tax is very difficult to collect as there is really no penalty for not doing so, and no means to force payment other than grabbing any refund that may be owed.

It was designed to be difficult to enforce. Once people figure out the ins and outs, the insurance companies will either hike premiums to the stratosphere or go BK or both which is probably the underlying objective.

i’m waiting for the first person who gets charged for not participating obamacare and/or having health insurance to file a discrimination lawsuit against the imperial president considering how his cronies received waivers while the rest of us serfs must submit...

btw- if you are afraid they may withhold the penalty from tax refunds, just raise the amount of deductions in your pay check and pay less taxes throughout the year...
