CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Last week, Nicholas County authorities charged a Mount Nebo man and his stepdaughter with incest - even though the pair aren't related by blood, and are both above the legal age of consent.
County authorities cited the inclusive definition of "daughter" in state law.
Nicholas County Sheriff David Hopkins said it doesn't matter that Kelcey Nicholas, 28, and his 21-year-old stepdaughter, Lataura Jarrett, are not biologically related. Nicholas married Jarrett's mother five years ago, and Jarrett had referred to him as her father, the sheriff said.
Sgt. W.K. Shafer and State Police Cpl. D.P. White went to Nicholas' home on Haynes Mill Road in Mount Nebo to arrest him for a home confinement violation on Sept. 19, Hopkins said.
That's when police officers discovered Nicholas and Jarrett having intercourse, the sheriff said.

Got sucked in to watching a documentary about a family from WV last night. Apparently they are local celebrities, surname “White”.
It was a train wreck; I was so mesmerized I finally forced myself to bed @ 12:30 AM. The life was so foreign. In WV’s defense, they were able to find two citizens in the town who were embarrassed by the White family.

Officers went to his HOME to arrest him for a HOME confinment violation. Did they knock on the door or were the happy couple on the fron porch? Something just doesn’t smell right here. Wish I hadn’t said that.
not out in Nicolas County...used to be a trooper there a few counties over — there are parts that even some white people - let alone black people go to...we refer to them as Hollar People...and they are different...glad I moved on and out yrs ago....
That “White” clan is from Boone Co....but the family name is all over...it can be common in certain counties...but the one’s who have stayed generation after generation — they are Hollar People - and they won’t be leaving anytime soon...too illiterate to read a map and legally drive - let alone have enough money to buy gas once they cross state lines...

You have no idea. I’d bet money, the mother/wife was encouraging it to keep her husband/step dad around.
Lataura’s mother, Jaqwandra, needs to put a beat down on her “husband” (seein’ as how he married her to get to the child).
The local community should find a special way to “shun” this demon.
