(Vanity) Military Pay will stop after September 30th?
Defense Finance and Accounting Service ^ | 30 Sep 13 | I got the rope

Posted on 09/29/2013 11:40:47 PM PDT by I got the rope

I just read this on the website:

Active military, Reserve and National Guard members:

Active military, Reserve and National Guard members will be paid on time for pay entitlements earned September 30th or earlier. Military members cannot be paid for duty performed after the expiration of the FY 2013 CRA on September 30th. Once another CRA or an appropriations act is signed into law, normal disbursement of military pay will resume.

“Stopping Obamacare is more important than paying our soldiers”

That is a bit trite unless you personally plan to share the pain, go without your next paycheck/dividend check or whatever you live on, and send the equivalent to a military family whose head of family is deployed to war so she can buy groceries and put gas in the car

What are they going to do when we all run out of money? Most of us have been doing without for six years now, when do we get our pay?

I feel for you guys, I really do.

But, when stuff like this happens good people get hurt.

Either we want the government to get a grip or we don’t.

Perhaps if we stopped acting like an empire instead of a republic, things would not hurt so bad.

In any event, the shut down won’t happen. The RINOs do not have the ‘nads to take on Obama.. .

“Most of us have been doing without for six years now, when do we get our pay”

Oh puh leeze.

You’ve had zero income and drawn zero from any source of savings for 6 years? Please share how you have “done without” income for 6 years

And signed up to go on multiple deployments to kill the enemy while he tries to kill you and plot attacks on our nation 24/7?

You go sign up for that and Congress will see that you get yours.

House resolution to pay military members in event of shutdown passed 423-0 over the weekend. There is absolutely no excuse — and I mean NONE — for this not to sail through the Senate and be signed by the Great Prevaricator.

If you feel for “us guys” and want to philosophize that oh well,”good people get hurt” and “someone” has to force the govt to “get a grip”, then join the good people and go without income during the shutdown. Or at least go Galt. Share the hurt. Walk the walk.

Don’t just keep on with your daily life and tell worried people they have to get hurt to fix our (your) government-

unless you are there, you aren’t there.

sorry - I can live on savings through a shutdown but I know others cannot and I recognize others will be in pain and I recognize they have the right to vent and the right to be supported in sympathy for their condition. Especially the families of our military and most especially those who dread every call or knock on the door because they have someone in that useless quagmire Obama created in Afghanistan

instead of being lectured by govt shutdown cheerleaders who have no skin in the game

How about just telling a troop or low level federal worker like those souls massacred in the Navy Yard “I’m sorry and we will all get through this together and I will help you with what I can share”

Yes, I have gone for months with zero income and lost well over 150K in one month thanks to Obama. How about you? They are simply using the military as a tool.

Pray America Wakes up

Is this legal? Has this ever happened before?

Actually, it's illegal (and unconstitutional) for the Army (and arguably all armed forces except for the Navy) to funded for more than 2 years at a time.

Section 8. The Congress shall have power...

To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years;

“Not Voting” is the same as a vote for Obastardcare. Flake and Booby Hatch aren’t going to wiggle off the hook by not voting.

I have a feeling (not based on any factual observation, just a “feeling”) that Obastard’s golf outings are not going to be well received if soldiers are not getting paid.

Just a feeling.

How about years without a raise. Lay offs. Going without.

Get a taste of what the rest of us have lived with for at least five years.

What did you think smaller government meant?

It is not my fault you are working for the beast.

Active duty military are exempt, so you can toss that argument in the can. Your straw man argument doesn’t cut it this time.

You guys run the show, YOU do something about it.

If you want a meal, stop by my house. I would love to feed you for a couple of days.

Can I have some of your raise that you get annually?

Can’t you see that however noble you think your job is, you are part of the problem?

Ha, Obama will have to fly commercial!!!

Air Force One is a military operation...Thus, the furlough’s will effect his flight crew, much less the maintenance, logistical and SS preparation for that trip to friggin’ Bali...

I say that trip (and any others) need to be no-go’s for the duration of the shutdown!!!

Okay then, you maintain the security systems and safety of of some of our nation’s unique weapons. I think that is pretty noble. Failure in that job is unthinkable. Somebody has to work for the beast because the beast has a lot of responsibilities for your life and well being
.
No federal raises - federal pay freeze since 2011 and 4% pay cut this year absorbed in past 2 months. You are misinformed

Military retirement pay went up about 2 percent but honestly never noticed. MEDICARE went up $800, Tricare charging fee for free medical care for life (thanks John McCain for leading that charge), family monthly prescriptions up over $1000, dental up $600 a year, and federal state property and local taxes went up thousands, too.

So can’t share any raises with you

everyone is doing without and planning on less but I don’t envy you or blame you for causing it unless you failed to vote against zerO

You take your food over to a military base and donate it to a young family whose spouse is deployed, OK. Or to a local food bank. That was a low mean remark. Maybe you can redeem yourself.

On second thought, nah..

No matter how justified you think your anger is you are misinformed envious small and spiteful to the wrong people.

I think we both have our positions hardened, so out here
