Voters in Jackson, Miss., a mid-sized city in the heart of the Deep South, have picked a Democrat as their mayor. What’s different about this individual is that he is a former leader of the Republic of New Afrika, a group dedicated to creating an independent black nation out of five southern states.
Now leading the city of about 175,000 is Chokwe Lumumba – who has a long history of radical activism and whose plans for the largest city in Mississippi could be called “revolutionary.”
A co-founder of the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, which promotes black “self-determination,” Lumumba was sworn in on July 1, after winning 86 percent of the vote in the general election

They all live in their nice gated communities in the suburbs.
He took the name Lumumba from Patrice Lumumba, a Moscow sponsored “revoultionary” from the Congo back in the early 1960’s.
Jackson, MS, will become another Detroit. Or Zimbabwe. It’s not race, it’s ideology.
That’s why the last name seemed familiar to me.
Have a good friend who lives in a Jackson suburb who has been saying the same for years.

They’re not getting MS either. This state is highly armed. I wonder how he feels every time he sees our state flag flying over government buildings, which the majority of whites (and one majority black county!) voted for, with its Confederate insignia. What he runs is the empty husk of a city from which the white tax base has fled beyond his grasp. He can posture all he wants, the power and money are elsewhere, and MS doesn’t take kindly to metro areas pawing out to loot the suburbs. Plus a lot of people still live in rural areas in this state.

That's not a serious answer. I understand, but it's not serious.
We have a very big problem here, it's getting worse, fast. It needs a solution, or at least a glide path pointing to a solution.
Separation, or secession if you want to think of it that way, offers a possibility of a solution.
I'm not saying it would work, and it would for sure involve some injustice.
Whether or not the injustice would be GREATER than the current injustice of whites being assaulted, beaten, raped, and murdered all over America every single day is hard to say.
It's a discussion worth having. The status quo is explosive, IMO, and is going to get worse.

Why anyone would not sell their house in Jackson today is beyond me.

Chokwe Lumumba was born August 2, 1947 in westside of Detroit, Michigan as Edwin Finley Taliaferro, a name he refers to as his ‘slave name’.
