HUNTINGTON, WV -
A mom and dad are facing charges after officers say the parents had no idea the toddler was found in a store parking lot wearing nothing but shoes.
Charles Grieco, 41, and Patricia Grieco, 40, of Baltimore Street in Huntington, are charged with felony child neglect, according to court documents. Officers with the Huntington Police Department say they found a two-year-old boy in the parking lot of a store in the 2900 block of 5th Avenue Sunday morning. Officers say the boy only had shoes on and managed to walk across Irvine Avenue to the parking lot on his own.
Officers went to the boys home where they say the parents had no idea the toddler was missing. Charles and Patricia were taken to the Western Regional Jail.

Meth is an ugly addiction.
,at be they are nudists, and this is yet another example of Government persecution of a religious minority.
That would be your West Virginia 40 and 41.
man they look like the couple that tried to rip-off Jesse, in Breaking Bad
On warm days, our toddlers might be clad in diaper and shoes. It would not be odd for a toddler to manage to shed a diaper.
In the old days(when most of us were kids) a child wandering away from home was usually a a haha story with the punishment being that the parents had almost died when they realized Boopsie had wandered off. Those days are gone.
child abuse either way
Good point. Does not necessarily demonstrate negligence. Toddlers can be amazing escape artists.
Someplace I have a picture of my oldest daughter in the rain wearing only an umbrella. She might have been 2 or 3?
Young children aren’t always modest, and have been known to slip their leash from time to time.
But I don’t like the idea of a child finding their way into traffic.
In my younger days, I had to work and live among WV folks like that. Their “drug of choice” was either hard liquor or PCP. Many times it was both. In great quantities. These folks have that “look,” complete with not but three teeth between ‘em.
Wearing shoes?!? In WV?!?
Mu mother loved to tell the story about me slipping out of the house at about 18 months old. She found me with my arms around the neck of an English bulldog. He was licking my face and I was kissing his tongue. So began my love affair with dogs! :)
It was high 60's. Considered very warm in January Alaska but not so much in September West Virginia
"wholly chit"
I was thinking the same thing.
They look like they could be brother and sister.
But mama said not to go outside with no shoes on!
Kids are hard to keep track of.
I know I was, as a child, an insomniac and still am at my mid-life.
It has always been difficult for me to sleep and I would and still do just go walking at all hours of the night.
