I’d go with a Mazda B6. The one in my car is coming up on 300K and has never been apart.
To: MeshugeMikey
LOL! I don’t usually have time to go to utube links, but this one was worth it!

I got a 1990 Toyota Camry. Motor with a quarter million miles. The rest of the car is falling apart, but with no motor problems. Get 36 MPG in summer.

I’ve owned a good many cars including 3&5 series BMWs. Looking at 6 cylinder engines, IMO Honda makes the best. The Honda/Acura V6s just rip all the way to the redline. BMW and Nissan would be my next choice, both have made great 6s over the years.

I always figured that a Rolls Royce Merlin shoe horned into my 1940 Buick Special would be just about the world’s best auto engine.

I’m very fond of the Subaru Boxer flat four. Smooth, well balanced for a four, low center of gravity, tough, well engineered, can make one heck of a lot more horsepower than factory tune when turbocharged, there are Boxer engines over 1000 hp out there. Nice, well mannered economical engine if you want it, racing engine if you want it.

I’ve kept my 1991 Toyota Tercel and it now has 236,000 miles. I love that car.

Ford has great products. Alan Mulally coming from Boeing was a great hire.

I had a Chevy Corsica with the 3.1L V6. I put over 260,000 miles on it before I got rid of it. The last 80K of its life with me included delivering newspapers. So don't think your Toyota is anything special if it can be beaten by a pos chevy.

If more Americans would lose their pre conceived notions of foreign being better they might just be surprised at what Ford now has to offer.
They’re doing it right.
