If more Americans would lose their pre conceived notions of foreign being better they might just be surprised at what Ford now has to offer.

They’re doing it right.

The resale value of Mercedes vehicles is not very high.

The Ford Fusion is easily the best car in its class, and Ford trucks are the best.

My next vehicle will be either a Ford Escape or Ford Edge.

I have to agree with you there. I'm on my second used gen-4 Taurus with the Vulcan V6 engine (it lives long and prospers). Gave the 05 to my son; I drive the 06. The 05 has over 200K and is in very good condition - runs like it could go to 300K if the rest of the car holds out (minimal rust so far, and none where it can be seen). The only major problem was that the tranny had to be rebuilt - a known problem. It was covered and cost me nothing. My 06 is rock solid - super dependable. Beyond that, nothing but proper PM for either car.

This was a welcome change over the Crapstar minivan and the Escort (so named bc you don't want to take it ANYWHERE by itself).
