The Outer Limits debuted on Monday, September 16, 1963 on ABC. Although this imaginative science fiction anthology series was cancelled midway through its second season, it gained a good cult following and proved to be highly influential.
The show had several truly fine episodes.
The Wikipedia article is very informative.
Many of the episodes are available online.

I believe this is an episode of One Step Beyond entitled "The Vision." More than 1,000 different men on both sides of the front saw something in the sky at the end of November 1915. No two people described the same thing. It is actually based on a true event.

While I loved the original series, I thought the new series was wonderful. I was so disappointed when it ended.........

If it wasnt problems with the transmission, it would be the vertical hold. And if that didnt cause distractions the horizontal hold would go haywire
Ya dummy, ya didn't have enough tinfoil on your rabbit ears antenna........LOL!

Do not attempt to adjust your set. But YOU tried.
OOOOH yea.......LOL!

In what turned out to be her last Christmas gift to me, though neither of us knew it at the time, my wife gave me the DVD of the complete series this past Christmas. We both loved the show, especially the now very relevant 100 Days of the Dragon.

I believe it was John Newland’s One Step Beyond. I remember the episode.

An episode set in Civil War battle. Something about the sun. The battle is in full charge when the North and South armies stop fighting due to something about the sun, the way it looked. Sound familiar to anyone? I KNOW I saw this episode!

Great show, one of my favorites from back in the day.
Probably liked it as much as the Twilight Zone.

An hour long rip off of TWILIGHT ZONE. An excellent program as I enjoyed both TZ and Outer Limits.
The first episode I saw was the thing living in the box. You look through the lens and it pulls you in.
I loved the episode of the man who knew he was “strange”. Attacked a religious fanatic woman, tore his arm open and found he WAS A ROBOT!
My wife said that episode caused her cousin to have nightmares for months!
But then I also liked ONE STEP BEYOND.

I believe due to copyright laws they were required to cHange the name to OUT OF LIMITS.

Hay it could have been worse. I remember MAN, WOMAN, BIRTH, DEATH, INFINITY. By then my dad was bored and changed the channel. I think it was some doctor show.

I did! Dad had to take it in the next week and get a new tuner as I tried to turn it backward.

Yes, that's what happened. I have a 45 rpm disc with the original title.
