My Charter Communications cable television went out about 3 hours ago. I know, boohoo you say :) I agree but I was interested in the FedEx Cup golf I had DVRed. It went black and I soon discovered the entire cable feed was off.
I called Charter and the rep asked do I live in Georgia. Yes, I reply. He says there is a big problem and it's out for the entire state of Georgia. No estimate to get it back on but "repair crews had been dispatched." groan....
I searched bing, google and the local news site but no news article about the outage was found.
headed for the big nut house in the sky
Huge storm front moving through the Southeast now, roughly parallel to I-85.
We’ve got Severe Thunderstorm Warning (and the storms!) here in Hickory, NC. Mrs BN called from just east of Chattanooga to ask me to check weather radar. She was in a torrential downpour there.
My lights and Charter Cable Internet went out briefly about 30 minutes ago.
Our electric went out here in Northfield, ohio, from 11 until 2. Evidently took TWC with it, as my landline rotary phone didn’t work either. I have a package deal, net/cable/phone.
The show is “CNN Newsroom” I don’t know who the gal was but she was really ragging on Hanoi John.
Now they have a guy on who when asked if striking Assad would help Al-Qaeda answered yes.
Seems the Clinton News Network has received its marching orders.
Two problems with Aereo TV:
1. You need internet access to watch it or DVR a program.
2. You can put up your own over-the-air TV for about $30 or make one yourself (plenty of Vid's on YouTube showing how) with common househould coathangers, a piece of wood, some nails and a short piece of Coax for less than $10.
Why ANYONE would PAY to get FREE LOCAL OTA TA TV delivered to them via the Internet just boggles my mind.
We dropped DirecTV last August and haven't looked back. I built my own HDTV antenna with parts I already had and it works GREAT. I get 60+ digital and HD channels out of Chicago, or I can turn it towards Rockford, Springfield, or South Bend Indiana and pick up even more.....
Besides that, their cheapest cable plan includes two gibberish-speaking stations and not CSPAN. Can't get satellite real well....trees.
Charter sucks
Charter is Comcast light as far as I’m concerned. That’s what we have in my area. It’s also a reason why I don’t have cable.
I don’t think I could bear to watch bammey play golf. Might be interesting to see how much he skews his game. Cheats, in other words.
Oh no! Not the squirrels!
Thanks, got it bookmarked for the next times.
Power out at Hobby Airport in south Houston today for several hours and we live WAY west. According to the news, TSA was “forced to conduct personal inspections of all passengers and their items”.
Been using Charter internet for years and today is the first time I recall it being out. Having to FReep on my cell phone. Tiny screen. Tiny keyboard. Fat fingers. Argh!
That's probably an everyday thing, somewhere. They can knock out my cable but not something important.
My internet never went out today.
My friend at work has noticed a change in some of CNN reporting, meaning not so skewed toward all things liberal. I rarely watch CNN so I don’t know.
I plug my phone HDMI output into a device called a “Lapdock 100.” It has a notebook sized screen and keyboard. Perfect for FReeping on my phone. Plus, the dock charges the phone, too. The device itself needs the phone plugged into it, else it is dead.
Say a prayer of thanks if this is the worst thing to happen to you today.
“I know....I should get the Dish, right?”
Yeah, dish only goes out when there are clouds in the area
