VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) A golfer and a teen were caught on camera in the middle of a brawl at a country club in Victorville earlier this week.
The video, which has been posted online, shows an adult golfer throwing a young boy to the ground and forcing him into a headlock at Spring Valley Lake Country Club.
At one point, five men can be seen standing around while the teen is tackled.
Bryan Price told KCAL9s Adrianna Weingold that he took out his cellphone and started rolling when the fight broke out Tuesday.
I was shocked. I wanted to jump on (the older man) and hit him so bad, but I thought if I (took video), itd probably go farther, he said.
Price said the golfer was angry because the teens were riding their bikes through the golf course, so he took his friends bike.
The older man had let (the bike) down, and pushed (my friend) in the bushes, and started throwing punches at him, he said.
Art Lozano said his son saw the whole incident unfold.
An adult doesnt touch a kid thats 14 years old. Thats wrong, he said.
Several club members said the teens regularly ride through the course, bothering golfers.
Byron Smith, who knows the golfer in the video, said the man took the bike because the teen was trespassing and he was trying to hold him until security came.
The kid started swinging the bike around and he punched one of the members in the back of the head. Then it turned into a physical thing, he said.
The boys were cited for trespassing since they were on private property.
As for the golfer involved in the assault, sheriffs said the investigation is ongoing and they havent identified him just yet.
Attack? Ha! You're the girlie man here.
"The price is wrong Bob!"
What part of “the teen punched a member in the back of the head” do you not understand? Did you even read the story?
No one can hit a 1 iron.
Police to adult suspect: “So, how many times did you punch the teen?”
Adult suspect: “Uhhh, put me down for a 5”
Sorry, I served in the Marine Corps and didn't waste my time riding around in carts and calling it "exercise". We also didn't waste our time wrestling with children.
Oh...so you can’t golf. I get it.
If I can, I sure as heck wouldn’t admit it.
The saying we had was: “it’s sad but true - no enemy soldier was ever killed by a basketball, a baseball, a football, a bowling ball, or a golf all - that has always been the task of a trained rifleman”.
Nowhere in the video did the golfer appear to throw any punches or kicks at the teen. He looked like he was trying to restrain/control him.
I’ll bet the kids won’t be riding their bikes through the golf course again soon.
Good grief..Off the subject but golf is just recreation not war..Methinks you do go on too much.
His only good movie.
I'll run by Miramar today and let the guys on the course know that you do not consider their activities worthwhile.
I'm sure they'll clear the course in your honor.
Julie Bowen certainly made it worth watching.
I watched it before I commented. Concur that a beating did not occur in the video.
My comment was directed at the foreseeable outcomes of initiating a tussle with a 14-year-old.
If a kid responds to being grabbed by throwing punches, the individual is going to have to take the punches or respond in kind. Both have predictably bad outcomes.
If a grown man starts a physical confrontation and bruises the face of a 14yo, there isn't a DA or tort lawyer in the land that isn't going to call it a beating.
The recreation part went by the board when the posters insisted that a grown man attacking a 14 year old for riding his bike was appropriate. If they really want to fight, there are still openings at the recruiters.
From the video, the teens appear to be self-entitled, worthless white boys. They aren’t going to do anything but run to mommy and daddy if their bike is thrown in the pond.
These teens would most likely benefit from a good kick in the ass and boxing of the ears, but a nonrelated grown man that plans on doing it had better be ready for the wrath of the judicial system, where he’ll be treated as a greater threat than a child rapist.
Or maybe just people who beat up 14 year olds and then strut around afterward.
For riding his bike on the golf course..I did not comment on the fight..I was not there.Others have seen the video and said he was trying to restrain him.
I was commenting on your silly comment about sports and war..Many brave warriors have played sports and been very good with a rifle..Being proficient in sports does not mean one cannot be a good warrior..
My point of view is a bit jaundiced. I spent 18 months in combat and came back with little patience for the things that entertain my fellow citizens.
I definitely don’t admire grown men attacking a kid barely out of grade school.
I hope you support your children if they play sports..They need your support even though you are not entertained.
I thank you for your service to our country and to me.
