You are correct; some Marines do play golf. I even have been known to play golf. It just isn't something enormously awe-inspiring and it has few, if any, translatable skills. I have always associated golf with old ladies with visors and sedentary rich guys with a lot of time on their hands.
Or maybe just people who beat up 14 year olds and then strut around afterward.
