I will continue to propose that ANYONE who uses this forum to propagate the stupid idea that Ted Cruz is not a Natural Born Citizen according to the constitution be banned from this forum.

Chill out P-Marlowe.

Can you tell me why the Founding States made the federal Constitution?

"Ted Cruz was born to an American mother. He’s a natural born citizen and patriot in every sense of the word and I will support him to the hilt if he decides to run and is the strongest conservative running!! In fact, if that happens, FR will be Cruz Country!!"

Does this mean that you intend to ban those that continue to uphold their sworn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America?

Cruz has already said he will renounce his Canadian citizenship so no one can say he has allegiance to another country besides America. I expect that process is ongoing now.

He was in our county last week and tickets sold out.

Ted Cruz would make a great president...

I would be first in line to vote for him...

but Jim you know he would have trouble from the Democrats all the way through his campaign for his Canadian birth etc...

they will get all phony serious about the need for NBC and adhering to the law as only they can do...

Oh they might let him manage to win the GOP nomination...

But what type of October surprize will they cook up against him ???

Bear with me...

Obama suddenly coming out and “realizing” at last he himself was never eligible ???

He remorsefully steps down as president right then..

President Biden forgives him...pardons him...

remember its been done before ...President Ford pardoned Nixon..

and Ted is left seemingly without an eligible leg to stand on..

thus Hilary walks to the White House..

and life as we now know it goes on...

The Democrats could use this situation of Ted’s birth to the hilt...

Go, TED, GO!!

FU Tokyo Rove, Chris Cristy, Jeb Bush, McCain, McBoehner, McGrahammesty, McFlake, McConnell and ALL GOP-e RINOS!!

The tea party rebellion is on!!

Anyone can’t live with that (as the say in Russia) tough shitski!!

Right on, Jim! If Cruz is in the primaries, I think this will be the first presidential primary in my memory of FR where there won't be huge divisions and arguing factions. I believe there will be 95% FReeper support for a Cruz candidacy right out of the box. This bodes very well.

I’m upholding my oath. Cruz is a natural born citizen despite any claims to the contrary from the legions of internet “sea lawyers!”

You misunderstand one thing here: There will not be the same standard for Cruz as there was for Bambi. The MSM double standard is a reality, and trust me, if they put out the mantra like they do, it WILL make a difference of some degree.

It's why it's important to persuade on this issue now. We have to make that degree of difference as small as possible.

And what of those who get nasty with so called 'Birthers'. A free pass for them?

“Cruz has already said he will renounce his Canadian citizenship so no one can say he has allegiance to another country besides America.”

That’s the problem what people are overlooking. You can’t be born a Dual Citizen with split allegiances and then revert to a natural born Citizen just because you renounce the foreign allegiance. It doesn’t work that way. It was never meant to work that way.

“Even McCain with his overseas birth to TWO American citizen parents and his father stationed overseas in the US military had to prove his eligibility through the Senate to be POTUS...”

NO! NO! NO! McCain is not eligible. McCain was born in a foreign country on foreign soil and (even though this doesn’t matter) in a city that was not under U.S. control.

The Senate resolution was NON-BINDING. A vote by the Senate can not overturn the Constitution.

Obama, McCain, Rubio, & Cruz are all ineligible to the office of president or vice president. They do not qualify under Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution, to wit the “Natural Born Citizen” requirement.

This is NOT that complicated, but the problem is that almost everyone THINKS they know about this. Even Levin! Mr. Constitution. Even Mr. Conservative Sean Hannity.

Born on U.S. soil by two citizen parents. This is what the framers intended. This is what the framers said by using the phrase “Natural Born Citizen”. The trouble is, today no one has been taught the constitutional requirements to be president. Myself, 63 years old, remember knowing my whole life that the requirements to be president are that you need to be at least 35 years old and been a resident at least 14 years, and be a citizen born in the USA. I don’t recall ever being taught what a “Natural Born Citizen” was.

The problem is that the public is completely IGNORANT on this issue. People don’t like being told that they are ignorant, especially when they actually are.

I’m not going to worry about the democrats. They’re going to condemn any candidate we put up. It’s up to us to turn out the vote. We need that grassroots tea party tsunami we’ve been talking about.

Rebellion is on!!

Damn the naysayers and RINOS, full speed ahead!!

I’d be more concerned right now that the conservatives split their votes 3 or 4 ways and allow Krispy Kreme or Jeb “open borders” Bush to waltz in. Then it’s president Hillary for sure. RINO = LOSER.

GO, TED, GO!!

Actually you are correct. Just like Obama’s birth was governed by the British Act of 1948 which made him a British subject. He also was able to have Kenyan citizenship when they went independent. But the kicker is we don’t know if he actually holds U.S. Citizenship since his birth certificate is a 100% forgery. If he was actually born in Hawaii, he would be just a Citizen of the U.S. but in all a triple Citizen of 3 sovereignties.

He never claimed double allegiance. His parents moved back here when he was two or four (forget which he said), and America is all he has known. That piece of paper has nothing to do with his allegiance, but he is renouncing it for the benefit of those fussing about it. Officials in Canada said it hasn’t been done much, but can be done.

“The Constitution wasn’t written as a dictionary,...You must look “elsewhere” to find their intent.”

That’s true. But where shall we look?

We can take the advice of Alexander Hamilton.

“What is the distinction between direct and indirect taxes? It is a matter of regret that terms so uncertain and vague in so important a point are to be found in the Constitution. We shall seek in vain for any antecedent settled legal meaning to the respective terms—there is none.”

[skip]

“...where so important a distinction in the Constitution is to be realized, it is fair to seek the meaning of terms in the statutory language of that country from which our jurisprudence is derived.” February, 1795

So what was the law in “that country from which our jurisprudence is derived.”?

Under the Common Law of England anyone born in the country with few exceptions was considered natural born. And under English statutory law children born outside the realm to British subjects were natural born.”

Under Hamilton’s guidance, Senator Cruz is natural born.

I have no intention of 'passing' on defending the Constitution.

If you have a problem with that, then of course you can ban me from your forum.

Your call.
