"Connection closed by remote server"
Well, it doesn't like you. :-)
The site is up, your problem is somewhere else. I don't know what. Sorry.
Try upgrading your browser or download an alternative like
FireFox.

I just downloaded FireFox on Mac, installed it and tried to go to Dogpile.
This is what I got.
"The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy.
- Try again in a few moments.
- If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
- If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."
FireFox come up on the web fine.

If you're at home, call your ISP, if you're at work, they may have a firewall.

I’m using Opera v12.16 too, and it works just fine. I just added it to the search bar drop-down menu.

Some time ago, Google grabbed it and redirected it, every time I hit the Home icon for Dogpile it would go to GOOGLE search page.
I doubt if Google would be involved in anything nefarious. It was probably a virus that redirected your browser.
I had a similar situation six months ago and none of the anti-virus/malware programs could find the problem.
Turns out the virus had hi-jacked my new router that I had installed just days before ... and forgot to change the default admin ID and password.
A physical reset on the router ended the problem.

I called AT&T and they said they didn't see any problems.
They suggested I try DOGPILE.COM later.
They also said I should give them a call and see it they could help me.
But if I cant open Dogpile's site, how can I get their phone number?

I saw in the URL box the GOOGLE web address whenever I hit my Home button. I just remember going to a GOOGLE site and after that it would redirect. I made sure I had Dogpile as my default page.

Try cleaning up your browser history, especially cookies.
IE10 Menu Bar Tools (you may have to enable the Menu Bar by right-clicking on the top bar and select Menu Bar)
Delete Browsing History.
Make sure "Cookies and Website Data" is set.
(I really don't *know* what your problem is, just helping you grasp for straws.)

I donpt know what's wrong, but I still can't get it.
I dumped all my Opera Web Browser files, and then rebooted and then reloaded Opera.
Then I did a search for Dogpile, and it still won't load.

I did all of that, dumped my web browser in the trash along will all the downloads of web browser updates, and used a "washing machine cleaner" to clean all histories of cookies and pre-loads.
Then rebooted again, went to Safari and downloaded a clean volume of Opera 12.16 and installed it.
Well after all of that, DOGPILE came back up.
Thanks a million.
I suspect that "Google" has something that redirects DOGPILE.COM request to a site that wont load, but that's just a guess.
Dogpile.com is up and coming and several search engines don;t like ikt.

Hmmm - well dunno what to tell you then. Mine sort of cleaned up. I don’t like GOOGLE so I removed anything pertaining to GOOGLE in my programs. What happened was I went to my Hotmail account and a GOOGLE page came up for it and I clicked it and I guess it loaded something. When I went to Tools/internet options and looked at my default home page it was replaced by GOOGLE. I reentered Dogpile and GOOGLE changed it again. Anyway it’s working now.
