The poor hostess told a very different story. Winfrey was browsing through some purses, and when she inquired about one particular model, the hostess suggested another, almost identical model, saying that while the other one would cost around 35k euros, the alternative one would cost much less and it's practically the same object, same model and material. Standard polite and helpful salesman behavior.

People like her go around looking for “implied” racism. How is a clerk in Europe supposed to know who she is?
Using the wording opened minded socialists have used in referring to Rush Limbaugh, may I say “ Oprah Winfrey is a big fat windbag!”

People can twist anything into racism.
Remember the old saying “Birds of a feather flock together”?
They must have been “black” birds. (Now that is NOT racist)
Oprah just showing that is one with her peeps.
She sees racism in a clerk telling her that a $38,000 handbag is overpriced.
Would it be racism if she was sold that overpriced handbag???

I lived in Switzerland for five years and it is highly likely that the shop keeper would not let anyone handle a 38k purse they had not already purchased. They just don’t have the same attitude to customer “service” that we assume here.
They also don’t care how important you think you are because they have diplomats, Arabs,billionaires and politicians around all the time and ignore them.
I used to get my morning coffee at the same little shop with a number of celebs and they were all ignored or treated the same.

Oprah needs to reaffirm her black bona fides, for a black victimology movie.
The only way to be down with the struggle, is to either be a black victim or white apologist. When you have made hundreds of millions in Whitey’s world, your believability as a victim tends to be questioned. So while Oprah was staying at a 5 star hotel or her personal villa in Switzerland, she discovered that an unattractive woman, likely dressing down, doesn’t always get the star treatment, especially in a foreign land where you are an unknown. Torture the story a bit, and you have a poor downtrodden black woman being denied service because all whites are racists.

Exactly. It’s the “Do you know who I am” syndrome. It must be hell for her to know that Euros don’t give a sh*t to who she is, and yes, the first time I saw Oprah I thought she was some homeless bag lady as guest on a talk show.
She has done some good. But that erases the stupid things she says and does otherwise. This racism thing plus her statement that a million of blacks were lynched makes me wonder about her mental condition. I have a friend that worked a restaurant in Seattle who told me that one time she came for dinner with an entourage and demanded that nobody be seated near her and her guests. She was quite demanding and insulting.
I may be one of a few people who’ve never watched her show nor followed her career. I have seen movies with her in it but it was not for her but for the movie itself.
Oprah’s complaints stems from her own racism. She just doesn’t care for white people.
