Family isn’t always the greatest blessing, huh? But the great relatives hopefully outweigh the deadbeat annoying liberal douches.....;^)

Yikes! We have had garden snakes here but never a rattler - of course my husband wouldn’t be scared but I’m like you - I wouldn’t leave the house until it was found!

I assumed that idiot girl had no sense when she admitted to sexting with Weiner, but then to do the beach photo shoot and now this porn tape.....I have to conclude that she must really hate her Mother and Father.

Naming a girl with a last name of Leathers, Sydney...pretty much locked her into this spot.

Its like naming a kid Jeeves...you have pretty much destined him a butler.

You never hear about Jeeves, the Hit Man...”terribly sorry sir, but I am going to have to whack you now” /seinfeld.

Are you suggesting Weiner was destined to be a perv?

Wouldn’t you love to have an Oscar Meyer Weiner?

If I had any doubt at all that the USPS should be totally shut down, I have none at all now-a few days ago, I asked a company to send some samples of a really great looking exterior cement board I want my contractor compadre to look at.

The samples arrived yesterday, and I found a note in the mailbox from the letter carrier saying they would not fit in my mailbox, 3/4 of a mile away, and to come pick them up at the PO 16 miles away!

I called her this morning, and asked her to please leave it in the bin my neighbors and I put there for packages that we are going to pick right up. The woman informed me in a condescending voice that she does not deliver packages, only notices. I almost said listen, bitch, packages are in your job description, so bring my f’in package, now. Instead, I said if I wanted to drive nearly 40 miles round trip to pick up a package of samples, I would just have driven to the vendor in SA and picked the samples up myself-have you priced gas lately?

I bullied her into meeting me at the end of the road with my package on her way back to the PO after her shift is over later today. From now on, I will pay to use UPS and have any package brought TO MY GATE, whether it fits in the stupid mailbox or not-I definitely think the USPS needs to go-along with all these mail carriers who think they are too good to deliver packages...

I think that “legally” they are not allowed to put mail anywhere other than in a mailbox.

That said, if we get a largeish package, the mailman usually brings it to the porch. They actually make a special run before they do their regular route.

I’ve had big boxes left on the stoop or next to the garage door.

My niece asked if my daughter and I would meet her for lunch today since she was on this side of town and my nephew joined us. He is in the Army and was wearing his camo uniform and someone at the restaurant paid for our meal, all of us, 3 adults, a teenager, a toddler and a baby. I was so touched! I told them we don’t have a lot of military in this area but we do appreciate them and it was really nice to see it in action.

I got my package of samples, after waiting for the carrier at the end of the road-she was scowling at the inconvenience, and practically threw the box at me, telling me what a drag her job was-I reminded her there are people who don’t have a job now, and left.

She is a CONTRACT mail carrier, as have rural mail carriers been ever since I can remember-and I’m pretty sure they still have more leeway than a city carrier. I’ve never had a rural carrier before who wouldn’t drive the less than 3/4 of a mile to leave a package that didn’t fit at my gate or anyone else’s.

That is so nice-here, where every other person is in the military, a service member in uniform eats free at many restaurants, even way out here...

Haha - sorry I didn’t see this until this morning - good response. I probably won’t be getting any hot dogs anytime soon after that connection!

but not rattlers, i associate them more with the west.

Eastern Diamondback
Of all the rattlesnakes the eastern diamondback is the largest. This heavy-bodied snake can reach adult lengths of nearly 8 feet (244 cm) long! It is native to a large area of the southeastern United States. It is the only member of its species (no subspecies).

In Kentucky or Tennessee you will also find the Timber (or Canebrake) Rattlesnake.

This rattlesnake is a heavy-bodied member of the Crotalus genus that inhabits most of the eastern United States (along the coast from southern Maine to the northern parts of Florida, and many other states east of the continental divide). The timber rattlesnake is also referred to as the canbebrake rattlesnake.
