Ah, a triple post....a new high for me!

The gremlins are infesting FR this week, so I plead not guilty. I'm just glad that after composing that lengthy effort it posted at all!

Sunflowers are hardy plants. In West Texas and our several year drought Sunflowers do well if they are watered regularly. The conditions are so severe most plants cannot take it.

Lantana and Holly Hawks survive and thrive for me. I am conscientiously watering. Drought, over 100 degree temperatures for days at a time, water regulations, etc. Trees by the hundreds are dying all over town. It costs about a thousand dollars to have a tree removed. I water and have $150.00 water bill every month. We have a new water source, the city owns a water field 75 miles away that has now completed the laying of a pipeline to Midland delivering the water. Predicted to be a 40 year plus source of water. Barely a trace of rain for the last year, and an extended time before the last rain of a couple on inches. BAD!

You’re right about the Dollar Tree. I go to the Dollar General to browse around and I always find something I need or want and even though it may not be a dollar, its usually cheap and if its what I want, I don’t mind. It usually isn’t much. Gosh, we’ve got so many Dollar Tree’s and Dollar Generals that I don’t have time to go to all. I do go to the Dollar General a lot as its only about 4 blocks from me and I always walk out with something worthwhile. But I really love to browse. I look more than buy but I do buy something most of the time.

Now here I go again, wanting the wings. I’m sorta stuck at home as Greg was going to try to get that man to come by and check the burner and my coffee pot, darn it! He said something about tomorrow and I said “you don’t think I’ll get up in the morning without my coffee?” I wouldn’t be worth living with, without my coffee. Of course, I could run to McDonald’s and get a couple of cups. They have wonderful coffee I just found out recently! I’m not worth much in the mornings to get dressed and run for coffee. I enjoy my night clothes for a few hours, don’t you? I guess that “young energy” I once had slipped away from me. Getting old is not for sissies, they tell me. I’ll keep looking for that young energy.....maybe its under the bed and dust covered...LOL!

Have you had Kentucky Fried Wings? My Kentucky Fried is on the other end of town so I’m not going that far today.

Lovely, Meg. Helen Keller couldn’t see but she “saw” with her heart....God bless her. She was probably more appreciative than some of us.

I’m having a terrible time posting and sending. I think its FR and I’m giving up until it straightens out a bit.
Anyone else having trouble?

Yes, I have tried the KFC wings and was VERY disappointed. They were scrawny and tiny. I never ordered them again.

I have found some of the most amazing stuff at my Dollar Tree. If you check a couple of weeks before any holiday you can find some reall neat things.

Jaycee - my Dollar General is several blocks away and I run there for household supplies and ‘some’ food, but only named brands. It’s very handy for me!

Thank you Meg for another lovely post. I am always amazed by Helen Keller quotes since she could not hear nor see. I wonder what her mind 'imaged', what her dreams were like...

I am a lot of trouble posting, keep getting 'page not found' and I have to try over and over to even post a reply. Including jaycee and Yorkie as I may not get to other pings.

It's takes a lot of water to keep flowers blooming in a drought.
Glad you have pretty Holly Hocks

It touched my heart when I read that quote by Helen Keller.
Humbling to say the least..but also inspiring.

I am looking hopefully toward FR getting this glitch fixed!!LOL
