... Trouble getting to sleep: Magnesium plays a key role in the bodily function that regulates sleep. Insomnia is one of the symptoms of magnesium deficiency ,and in fact,a 2006 analysis in the journal Medical Hypothesis suggests that such a deficiency may even be the cause of most major depression and mental health problems.
Trouble staying asleep: Potassium supplements may be helpful to those who have trouble sleeping through the night, according to a 1991 study in the journal Sleep.... When most people think about potassium, they think bananas. Bananas do contain a fair amount of this mineral (about 10 percent of the daily value),but they aren't the best source. Beans, leafy greens and baked potatoes are the best sources. Avocados are a great source too good news for the guacamole lovers!
... Tired during the day: There is a strong correlation between excessive daytime sleepiness and vitamin D deficiency ,a 2012 study in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine found.

I form kidney stones - both kinds, evidently according to my doc - so I have been very leery of taking calcium supplements. The only calcium I will take is the Cal-Mag Supreme by Solray which is balanced and has boron and other supporting minerals and herbs.
So then I should be working up to and ultimately leveling off at about 1600 mg. calcium/day and 800 mg. magnesium/day because you need to double the amount of calcium compared to magnesium? Oh, I also take 3,000 units Vit. D3 as well. Thanks.
Did you hear about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac? He lies awake at night wondering if there is a Dog.
No magnesium effect noted here. Calcium dependence, I guess.
That I don’t know but the crystallization of calcium in the body is due to insufficient stores of mag to dissolve it.
according to the definition (and I don’t know anything about it) strontium is calcium or has the make up of it.
be very careful supplementing with calcium as, mentioned earlier, we get a lot of it in our diets and it can wreak havoc on our health if we’re not supplementing with mag.
This country has a deficit of mag as we used to fertilize with it and we’ve overfarmed the soil. Among other things that deplete it in our systems including stress.
I personally would not supplement with calcium. If you continue to do so I would flip the ratios; 2 to 1 of mag to calcium. If you have blood work done have it tested for D and see where you’re at then recheck in a few months. I had to go off D because my levels were very high due to taking mag. Mag makes it absorb. I live in FLA so I Get a lot of D naturally.
big surprise :|
There is a fantastic book out called The Magnesium Miracle by Dr. Carolyn Dean. Well worth the money and full of great info.
Interesting. Thanks.
Have read some thoughts that the body deposits calcium to cement fungal spores.
Before T I could only sleep for 2-3 hours a night.
Magnesium... Potassium... and vitamin D....
bookBUMP
No, it doesn't.
Hard work makes one tired it does not regulate sleep. The two things aren't even related.
Magnesium is wonderful...helps with insomnia and much more.
Never know anyone who did a day of hard work had a problem sleeping.
It has everything to deal with sleep try it.
Ping for later.
I say you are a sanctimonious liar.
A full 20% of American's suffer from chronic insomnia and it has nothing to do with hard work. To say you have never met a hard working insomniac is a lie.
Ignorant posters like you give conservatives a bad name.
A full 20% of American’s suffer from chronic insomnia.
And ignorant fools buy in to any thing they are told aka known as sheep.
It appears you suffer from a lack of education due to a very low IQ. Perfect self description though.
I stand by the fact you are a liar.
