I’ve seen them in action. VERY impressive.

everyone stayed on our plane while the ceremony was underway.

It was a somber group. I heard a few sniffles.

Makes me tear up.
We are losing our best and for nothing.
Absolutely nothing.

:: We are losing our best and for nothing.

What hurts me more is ^wha^t we are handing over to the men and women who returned from the ME. They fought, and some died, to advance liberty.

We ask them to come back to a country that advocates absolute fealty to an invasive government.

I hang my head and ask my SIL and grandchildren to be patriots.

Not just Delta...

I highly recommend the movie “Taking Chance” starring Kevin Bacon
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1019454/

from above link:
“Based on real-life events, Lt. Col. Michael Strobl, a volunteer military escort officer, accompanies the body of 19-year-old Marine Chance Phelps back to his hometown of Dubois, Wyoming. “

If you teared up watching this short video, you will cry your eyes out watching this movie.

While I am recommending movies that will make us cry, another one is “Memorial Day” with James Cromwell.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1694118/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl

“Memorial Day, 1993. When 13-year-old Kyle Vogel discovers the World War II footlocker belonging to his grandfather, Bud, everyone tells Kyle to put it back. Luckily, he ignores them. Although Bud has never talked about the war, he finds himself striking a deal with his grandson: Kyle can pick any three souvenirs, and Bud will tell him the stories behind each one. Memorial Day not only takes us on a journey into Bud’s complicated wartime past, but also into Kyle’s wartime future. As the two men share parallel experiences in combat, they come to realize how that magical day on the porch shaped both of their lives. ..”

at least, with respect for returning military, we’ve come a long way since Vietnam. No one is spitting on the casket or troops in the airports any more.

As a government, fighting a battle, I regret we’ve regressed back to Vietnam. All politics.

I’ve said this before here, but after 22 years as a Naval Aviator, and having been around the planet maybe 10 times, these things just leave me a blubbering mess. Thank you for posting it and thanks to the young Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and Marines for all they do every day, including giving - all.
