THOSE ARE THE FACTS.
Her statement was legally correct. Being a lawyer, she may have been trying to inform you a defendant who is found "not guilty" in a trial may not be innocent. Think O.J. Simpson.
On the other hand, she probably would also say some people who are found "guilty" are actually innocent.
Don't read too much into her comment.
A lot of it has to do with blacks saying and doing what is expected of them. Also there’s the fact that most blacks get their news on the street.
I know an inner city pastor in Detroit who has taken a lot of heat for speaking the truth. He’s saying that whether you agree with the verdict or not, the shooting probably wouldn’t have happened without a well deserved “cultural” reputation. In one sense he blames Trayvon’s father for being typical of black fathers. He says they love their sons but not enough to be true fathers.
I know the type of man he’s talking about. I used to work with a black man who was the proud papa to a half dozen drug dealing thugs. When one of his sons was shot in the leg, daddy seemed to be proud of it like the boy had bravely faced a threat. Real fathers don’t want their sons involved in crap like that.
Blacks have been told so often tha they are victims of racism, that they believe it even when it isn;t true. Many, especially those trapped in the hood, believe that racism is the reason they are there but constantly berate those who try to leave through education and hard work.
I think a lot of blacks would be brought over to a consistant, constitutionally conservative message. The problem is the puppet-masters in the Republican party. They’re only interested in greater wealth and power for their sponsors.
I would like to see some of them take a trip to Africa and visit some of the villages that are at the end of the road.
See what their lives would be like if they had never been brought here as slaves, if they still lived in Africa. No one would want to stay. Let them come back and see what they told the others.
If I was black I would be so grateful that I had been delivered from Africa. What a hell hole!
lol. The central plank of the Democrat platform when McClellan ran against Lincoln in 1864 was to sue for peace with the South and keep all blacks slaves.
Yeah, they're so blind. And stupid.
Who do they think the slavemasters were? The very ones who are raping them today. geez!
It took a Republican to free blacks from their servitude and a Democrat to try to keep them in their place.
But they ain't quite bright enough to figure it out. Must be alla free stuff.
Yes, they are. In a country of 316 million, the 12.5 percent black minority commits nearly 50 percent of the crimes. Most of this crime, 93 percent, is committed against other blacks. About 2 percent of the young black males are gang bangers, thugs, burglars, rapists, muggers, thieves, and murderers.
Now, instead of cleaning up their mess within the black community, the majority of the blacks heed the siren calls of Sharpton, Jackson, and Obama to blame all their ills on white racism. Horse hockey. The black minority aren't victims (though the paint themselves as victims); they are the CAUSE.
The black’s nihilistic life style choices are their problem because it leads nowhere but crime, self destruction, and death (primarily to other blacks). However, none dares speak the obvious truth. It is totally disgusting and there is a real backlash building.
And monumentally stupid to boot.
Not merely blind, but given their outbursts in this post-racialist age, they are ignorant, deaf and dumb, too.
There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
A little perspective: if George Zimmerman were an Orthodox Christian, his priest would certainly have imposed a penance on him for taking Trayvon Martin’s life, even though under the law (and rightly so) it was a homicide justified by self-defense. Our canonical tradition has a canonical penance for soldiers who kill in war — three years excommunication (contrast with the canonical penance for murder — lifelong excommunication with communion of the Holy Mysteries on the deathbed only). (I should note, the canonical penances are rarely applied in practice, but mostly serve as a guide to the relative severity of sins.)
Homicide is never an innocent act, though in the fallen world, it is sometimes a necessary act, sometimes an act which is the least of the evils some circumstance presents to our prudential judgement. Our law rightly recognizes homicide in self-defense as one such circumstance, and imposes no temporal punishment. The verdict in the Zimmerman case was correct, but sub specie aeternitatis, none of us are innocent — as the Scriptures say “no man liveth and sinneth not”.
It’s a lot like the gay issue. I really don’t want to generalize because there are members of both groups that don’t fit this description.
But if you see yourself as “black” or “gay” first and everything else afterwards - you’ll come to one set of opinions and indeed facts.
If you see yourself as a man, or a woman, or an American that just happens to be black or gay or whatever, your conclusions will be completely different.
The demagogues on the issue of race, sexuality and other issues *want* you to think in this narrow way. The challenge is to not fall for this trap.
Hannity asked the woman why she thinks George Zimmerman is a racist after he has a history of mentoring blacks, stood up for a homeless black man who was beaten by Sanford cops, and even dated a black woman.
The woman answered that she thinks there is a thing called "situational racism."
Hannity should have stopped her right there to say that by her rules, MLK is a racist, too, because it's no longer about the content of your character that was built up over a lifetime; it's now about the next "situation" only.
If we accept the notion of "situational racism," then everyone is just one "situation" away from being a racist. We no longer have to worry about building up a lifetime of bona fides, it's "what have you done for me lately" to them.
Everyone must now live in fear of the next "situation."

"Blacks" aren't anything.
Unless, of course, one subscribes to the belief that they are issued opinions and world views because of their skin color...or as one black conservative stated:
I have come here today not in anger or to anger, though my mere presence has been sufficient, obviously, to anger some. Nor have I come to defend my views, but rather to assert my right to think for myself, to refuse to have my ideas assigned to me as though I was an intellectual slave because Im black. I come to state that Im a man, free to think for myself and do as I please.

I despair when I consider the lot of black conservatives, even on such websites as Free Republic. Any who would call "blacks" blind, consider the life of the man quoted above, Justice Clarence Thomas...or ask if you consider yourself the intellectual equal of Thomas Sowell.
It is bigoted to assign views to individual blacks, whether it be done on the part of so-called civil rights leaders or in the context of a Free Republic thread.
Stop it, please.
As a matter of fact...
