McCain is playing the MC Hammer song on this one right now.

"Can't Touch This"

Actually, McCain is focusing on much more important matters these days. He is addressing the NFL blackout policy. He is raising the point I have been wonderingfor years. Most stadiums are purhased through the taxpayers, but they cannot enjoy the sport franchise it was purxhased for when they do not sellout. Forcing the fana to either pay the ludicrous ticket prices, or live by highlights alone.

Sadly, this maybe McCains greatest bill he has ever pushed.

OFF TOPIC WARNING: Really? You want the Fed Gov to step in because local bond referendums and such financed the stadia? Fans aren’t forced to do anything. Fans aren’t forced to even be fans. The NFL, and I’m no fan of them particularly, can distribute their product how they see fit, like it or not. Ultimately, the fans will leave or stay. You are all wrong on this.

NOW, BACK TO MCCAIN AND TRAYVON: sheesh I hope not!!!

Obama is a given, although this blew-up in his face rather badly.

McCain, though, can’t let a 24-hour period pass without his name somewhere in the media.

McCain is pushing for a chair of Black Law at Sum Univerity. I think he has a Community Organizer in mind.

Yes off the topic, but I am not wrong. Difference of opinion maybe. Taxpayers do have to pay for the stadium, fans or not, if that is what their particular city decides.

BTW, McCain has chimed in yet about Trayvon anyways, the whole article seems relatively pointless.

By the way, the Feds are involved in the blackout policy anyways, it was a federal broadcasting law passeed in the 1970s which allowed this. McCain was going to make a decision of the private stadiums whether they want to broadcast locally, and force public ones to broadcast either way if they sellout or not.

With due respect, you still don’t understand the notion of the NFL business model and the way TV rights are negotiated and exectued. The Fed ruling from the 70s doesn’t have anything to do with it. There is no assumption that any given game will be available on TV or cable in any given market. Your entire case rests on that because it was the norm for years. Nothing about broadcast or cable is even the same as it was in the 70s. Technology has made those laws irrelevant.

Again, not to comment on the NFL’s policies per se, but only to say that McCain and even more Fed involvment can not lead to anything good, period.

You should know better.

I am no fan of McCain.

But, I know the reason he looks so awkward when he raises his arms is because of the damage done to them while being tortured at the Hanoi Hilton.

I will concede your probably right. The NFL is not known to be the best run and most sucessful sports league in the world by accident.

In addition more fed involvement probably isnt verygood.

Nonetheless, I really hate that teams and the NFL do this with these cathedrals that are built with public funds.
