Something about this “unknown” assailant and how “he should have been monitored” crap just does not ring true.
Given what I know now, I’d say the “assailant” is not unknown, but is a minority who must be protected.
I hope that kid sues the school and the rapist gets time and has to register as a sexual offender along with the lookouts if they had them.
This kid is going to be screwed up at the very least until he graduates high school, kids are vicious and he'll hear about it forever.
Now, if he says he's gay, then he'll get all kinds of accolades; what a screwed up society.

WTF is a “global preparation academy” anyway? Prepping for global government? Lame.
Perhaps this is off topic, but the article says that there was a history of bullying the mentally disabled boy. I question the wisdom of “mainstreaming” a child with the mental capacity of a six-year-old into a school with high school students and the freedom of movement between classrooms that is implied in a High School setting.
Special Needs students require some special skills, training, and a little more sheltered environment than what this school provides.
(Of Course, I am NOT excusing the Sodomite! He should be prosecuted as an adult for committing an adult crime against a mentally disabled kid. HEINOUS!!!!!)
Just my opinion, but I DO teach “Special Needs” kids and adults.
