It’s hot in Texas. Been in the 90s and 100 a day or two.
Ok, so who wants to be on my jury? Hubby got happy with his lawn mower AGAIN. Mowed down my okra. Same exact place where he mowed down my beets last year. Asked him why he couldn’t understand where the garden was when there is a cement curb around it that he’d have to lift the lawnmower over into it. His reply was he didn’t have to lift it over as it was easy to push over and hey, he stopped at the tomato plant so what’s the problem.
He re-tilled.
I have okra seeds soaking and will get them re-planted tomorrow. Between him, Mother Nature and poisonous seeds from Ferry Morse.... I dunnoooooo.....
They have these really cheap white wire fences at Walmart. They are about 18 inches tall. Really easy to stick in the ground. He might not run over them.
Doesn’t he like to eat okra? I think you are going to have to come up with a negative consequence before he takes you serious.
“Mowed down my okra.”
Shoot him with a hollow point bullet to make sure he stays dead, then replant okra. No more problem.
If I wasn't so far away, I'd volunteer for jury duty. I remember a very reprehensible ad from a few years ago, where the idiot husband "was having so much fun driving his mower" that he even mowed his poor, long suffering wife's entire rose garden. GUILTY!
It is OK if hubby does that.
At least it wasn’t someone your PAID to mow the lawn! LOL.
LOL. My wife begged me not to plant okra this year.
A few weeks ago I pulled up a habanero plant, saved the ripe fruit and threw the rest of the plant in the yard. I few days later I’m mowing the yard and suddenly I had to cough a couple times. It’s probably a good thing I was wearing a cloth “sock” that covers my neck, face (and mouth) for sun protection. That day I learned the useful lesson that habaneros will continue to ripen after picking, and, perhaps more importantly, not to run the lawn mower over ripe habaneros.
My sympathies! My Darlin’ got wild with the weed whacker several days ago and beheaded one of the sunflowers and an okra!
I remember your tale about the poisonous Ferry Morse. I have bought some in recent days, and had trepidations, but the store only had FM for the kind of plant I wanted. Whenever possible, I try to opt now for a different product.
