CALEDONIA - The Caledonia Police Department says that a 15-month-old child has been hospitalized with severe facial tears, puncture wounds and missing teeth after being attacked by a pit bull.
The attack happened Wednesday night at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday at a home on the 3400 block of Ivy Lane.
According to police, the child was sitting on the floor when the pit bull, known as Mary Jane, attacked.
The dog reportedly bit the child so she could get a cookie from the child's mouth.
A humane society in Racine has seized the dog. Her owner says she wants the dog euthanized.
No one was initially arrested, but a criminal investigation is ongoing.

Why single out pitbulls? They’re not all violent.
I know I will hear all about how someone here has a pitbull that is a loving pet, blah, blah, blah. But there is more violence with this breed than any other and no redeeming value. They are used for fighting dogs, which is a good reason to ban the breed.
My friend Doug in Milwaukee had an American Staf. Wonderful dog! Named Daisy. As soon as she saw me, she’d flop over on her back for a tummy rub. One day Doug came home from softball practice, and was on the phone in his living room. Daisy attacked him, and latched onto his thigh. Luckily the guy he was on the phone with called the cops and EMT. Doug had to kill her with his softball bat. The EMT guys told him that if they’d gotten there two minutes later, he would have bled out, and been dead!

I bet the number of Americans that illegals kill and murder and rape (even children) dwarfs the number that pit bulls kill. put the numbers up. just another fake crisis to distract us from the Amnesty bill and IRS scandal and to get gov more power to do something about this “crisis”.

You make a good point. The problem is more from the freaks
and sociopaths that would own a pitbull.
They tend to have masculinity and control freak problems.
I do not see ANY endearing qualities in the breed.

Enough of this crap that it’s all about how they’re raised. They’re breeding has way too much influence on their temperament. Yes, there are some docile ones, but that breed is volatile.

Well, I do know there are/were some FReepers that had pitbulls, but I have no idea why.
It is also a common tactic liberals use in the debate over firearm ownership. You have a liberal who is afraid of owning a firearm because they may hurt themselves or others or are not responsible enough to control what happens when they are around and will instantly project their fear of weapons upon you. See, they are afraid of (insert irrational fear here) so that means we must ban the boogeyman du jor. Pitbulls, guns, Conservative Talk radio, liberals love to ban things that they fear.

Just because somebody else can’t control their “inner psycho” doesn’t mean we should all have to suffer for it.
There was a great article in one of the Jewish periodicals written by a psychologist who said that the liberal hatred of guns stemmed from the fear that “we” might do to them what they secretly, desperately -wanted- to do to us.
Judging from the liberals I’ve met, I’d say she was spot on.
