The magnetic north pole has moved 161 miles in 6 months only, this puts its arrival in Siberia in less that 2 years, and it is when it arrives there that it will have migrated 40 degrees across the northern hemisphere at this point the poles will shift at high speed over the equator until it reaches 40 degrees south, i will tell you what i expect to happen when it goes past the 40 degrees point in the coming uploads...

As you so correctly point out, the Earth’s magnetic poles occasionally reverse. This fact is recorded in the magma released on the Atlantic sea floor due to plate tectonics along the Atlantic Ridge. It turns out that iron crystals in the molten magma align with the poles when in their molten state and are forever frozen in alignment when the magma solidifies. Sensors on board ships and submersible sensor pods can measure and record this alignment and the record was used to confirm the theory of plate tectonics.
None of us alive today were around the last time the poles reversed, in fact that event lies outside the range of recorded history. None of use know how fast this happens and what the signs of reversal might be. None of us know how quickly it proceeds and what the effects might be on our protective magnetic shield. This is the realm of speculation, some of it informed by physicists and other scientists much smarter than any of us can imagine.
No matter, there is today some Freeper, probably living in his parents basement, who has figured this all out and we will be regaled with a blast of the truth unrivaled since the Obama birth certificate revelations.
Did you not get the memo? His Godship Obama is far above that pesky Christian God! He is Obama! At worst, he is only a step below Muhammed and Allah himself.
Which in the current worldview places him well beyond the reach of any lesser divine entities.
Just ask any of his supporters.
That is what you said last time. Put it back.
Thanks V.
Charles Hapgood was the author (it’s around here somewhere) and that work was the basis for Flem-Ath’s claim. Thanks c.
This guy isn’t making sense. He’s talking about a shift of the magnetic north pole (which he keeps referring to as the north pole just to add confusion). Then he starts talking about how the place where the sun sets has shifted. That would mean that the actual polar axis had shifted, rather than the magnetic poles.
This guy has lost all credibility as far as I’m concerned.
Better hurry. ;’)
One of my great-grandfathers was a northern Pole, and I believe he moved hundreds of miles in a few weeks to become a south Pole w/o adverse effects.
(Some relatives around that time did “migrate” to Siberia, probably due to external forces...)
An EMP or CME is the reason I own a 73’ pontiac....well that and it looks cool...*grin*
Its not my fault.
The magnetic pole and the Earth's axis are two different things. If it's just the magnetic pole then it's no big deal except for navigators, some electronic devices and your toilet bowl may spin the other way. But if it's an axis shift then major life style changes will have to be made (Note to self: Buy more ammo).
I don’t know. I was just kidding you. LOL
I
This part definitely was *not* true:
[snip] And the Inuit tribes in Alaska who hunt seals, determine the fishing time on when a sunrise began between two mountains, but now the sunrise is miles further away? I tend to believe the north pole has shifted dramatically. [/snip]
The sunrise moves daily because the axis has a tilt to it and the Earth orbits the Sun. The rotational axis has a slight wobble (the Chandler Wobble), but otherwise isn’t shifting. This thread is about the magnetic pole shift, which is a different thing.
just to keep the conversation on course...as airliners, fly into the high Arctic, they do not use a magnetic compass for directional guidance, and rather revert to so-called true headings, as derived for the aircraft guidance computer....this magnetic pole shift/movement is serious business....
You’re exactly right.
