Man found dead in house full of snakes

COPS looking for a missing man were shocked to find him dead in his home — surrounded by over FORTY giant snakes.

Many of the reptiles, including a 30ft anaconda and four 35ft pythons, were slithering free around the decomposing body when police entered snake fan Heiko Rieder's apartment in Straubing, Germany.

A fire service spokesman said: "At least one was as thick as a human thigh."

This is why I don’t keep snakes as pets. I only keep live lions and tigers.

The lions keep the snakes at bay.

Guy's a gypsy ~ like Obamugabe's buddy Rezko. That 'ko' in his name is a standard Roma diminutive form ~ and he's not exactly someone who just loves snakes ~ or wasn't anyway ~ he'd be a DEALER in exotic snakes. This is one of the crafts brought from India centuries ago.

We had one of them in our neighborhood years ago. One day one of his black mambas got loose ~ that got the cops really, really interested in putting him out of business!

NOTE ~ the story says the dude had these animals in his apartment!

IIRC we had a story , a looooooooong time ago, about a German man that was found dead...after 7 years!

What’s with these Germans going dead and being found, only after long periods of time? A cultural thing...perhaps not speaking up.

Oh man! I wish I could find an old woodcut from the 1870s! It showed an outlaw gang all dead because their hideout was built over a rattlesnake den.

Snakes are good pets, they are pretty easy going, but I wouldn’t keep a constrictor like these. They just get too big to manage easily.

Another long time poster sent a message to me and the Admin complaining about a reference to “snake handlers”. Caution: it may become politically incorrect here to say “snake handler”!
