FOLLOW THE MONEY . . . ORGANIZED CRIME AND THE IRS
5/28/2013 | MrChips

Forgive the original post, please, but there is something that keeps bothering me that I just need to vent. In all this scandal news surrounding the IRS, all the hours and hours of televised commentary about it, I have never once heard anybody mention the recent (and ongoing) scandal involving Identity Theft at the IRS. Not only have tens of thousands of people had their identities stolen via the use by others of their social security numbers to file returns . . . I am a victim, myself . . . but, it is also the case that billions of dollars (I seem to recall a figure like $65 billion) has been mailed out in fraudulent refunds. At first, I suspected my own identity to have been stolen by some job-seeking illegal alien. But, then I head the numbers. Some 1,300 fraudulent refunds went to a single mailbox in Chicago (of all places). Another 900 went to each of two mailboxes in Florida. More multiple mailings augment the story. The problem has increased 10-fold in the last four years. And, I said to myself that no, this was not the work of illegal aliens. This was more like organized crime. Could it be the same mafia that is running the government? Political payoffs? Outright stealth? Who knows what ungodly horrors this money may be funding. Our money. But, this is, after all, Obama's IRS. I am surprised no one in the Media has picked up on it. But, as they all talk about uncovering the "paper trail" that inevitably indicts people, let's just say it, right here: Follow the money, follow the money, follow the money!

I wouldn’t know how to get one fraudulant refund.
How is it even possible (unless there is insider information)?

And then to do 1300 of them?

You might have something.

1,300 in one place, no less! How in Hell can the IRS really NOT know that! How?!?!?!? I don’t think it is incompetence. It is criminal activity within the IRS. It has to be.

Years ago, there was a welfare fraud case where the fraud was committed by a director working for the welfare department. She was receiving more than 40 welfare checks to her residence in Palos Verdes for several years. it helped pay for her million dollar home (In 1988 now worth 10 million) for many years and her servants. She was part of a group that had been committing fraud against the welfare department for many years. So I would say this is an inside jobs to be able to do all this

Thank you for your post. I am a victim too. To my knowledge, the IRS has not gone after the thief, although they have enough information now to prosecute. It's possible that they did but didn't bother notifying me. You know how it is, even though you're a victim you're kept out of the loop.

Until reading your post, I hadn't thought about the political aspect. One of the parties who benefited from the theft is friendly with the administration. It would be clear to the IRS from my history of deductions that I oppose the administration's agenda. I have no idea if any of this factors into the IRS choosing not to prosecute, but it's a sign of the times that I would even wonder. Isn't it lovely that we'll soon face the same questions for health insurance and medical care?

Victims are advised by their attorneys to keep their personal cases private. That’s one reason. The other is that victims are afraid. Oh, yeah, organizations ask for information on such cases, but then they refuse the information (bipartisan crime and criminal politics).

Yep! your correct. I hope that the GOP can tie this goon back to Shulman who visited the White House 122 times but couldn’t remember anything.

Read more about Bauer below.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/bob-bauer/gIQAgz4w6O_topic.html

Outgoing White House Counsel (December 2009 to June 2011)

Why He Matters
Bauer is one of the nation’s pre-eminent experts on election and campaign finance law, and his views are enormously influential with Democrats.

Married to Anita Dunn.

Another article:
http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2012/11/28/democratic-lawyerobama-advisor-bob-bauer-to-teach-at-nyu/

Bauer is returning to New York University Law School this spring to teach a seminar on political reform.
The course will encompass campaign finance, lobbying laws, voting rights and more—topics Mr. Bauer has had ample exposure to during his 30 years of practice as a lawyer, which include stints working for political campaigns and the Democratic National Committee.

It gets better.

Read the end of this paragraph.
During his time on the campaign trail, Mr. Bauer led challenges to new voter laws backed by Republicans—including suing the state of Ohio in July—and lobbied the Federal Election Commission to allow individuals to text in donations (as did his Romney counterpart). Mr. Bauer also sought to compel the well-funded Republican advocacy group Crossroads GPS to disclose the names of its donors, citing millions of dollars the group has spent on campaign ads attacking Democrats.

This is the guy who pulled the chains with the IRS on behalf of the White House.

You can’t make this stuff up. On May 21, 2013 Obama appointed Bob Bauer to A FEC Presidential Commission on Election Administration.

LOOKING TO STEAL MORE VOTES IN THE FUTURE.

Commission to identify practical, real-world solutions to long voter lines, access to polls.

WASHINGTON, May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Presidential Commission on Election Administration was officially launched today, following President Barack Obama ‘s State of the Union pledge to identify non-partisan ways to shorten lines at polling places, promote the efficient conduct of elections, and provide better access to the polls for all voters.

The 10-member Commission will submit a final report to the President within six months of its first public meeting, which is expected to be held in Washington in June. Headed by Co-Chairs Bob Bauer and Ben Ginsberg , the Commissioners are experts in election administration, policy and procedures, or leaders from customer service-oriented businesses and industry.

“The President’s expectation is clear,” said Co-Chair Bob Bauer , who served President Obama as White House counsel from December 2009 until 2011, and as General Counsel to the President’s re-election committee and to the Democratic National Committee. “The Commission is charged with developing recommendations based on the best information available for administrative practices that afford voters the opportunity to cast ballots without undue delay and improve their overall experience.”

” The Commission was created by Executive Order 13644, Establishment of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration. Commissioners were appointed by the President.:

Robert F. Bauer , Co-Chair and Member – Partner, Perkins Coie LLP

Another Obama Executive order.

You are incorrect. I have Lifelock. It happened anyway. Lifelock does not follow the inner workings of the IRS.

I forgot the sarcasm tag, but observe that outfits like LifeLock strike me as asking for protection money: Protection from the mob. Why should someone have to pay extra to keep from being robbed? Situation with the IRS is dreadful.

Lifelock is really just a form of insurance. They can help with reimbursement from theft. But prevention is difficult, and in the case of the IRS, impossible.

Did you file a police report when your identity was stolen? I did. The policeman laughed, but understood. And my Congressman told me to file one.

The IRS sent me a PIN number to use the next year when I fiiled electronically. Needless to say, the PIN number did not work. I file by paper now.

I did look into just why it takes so long, as a victim, to receive a refund. That first year, I filed in March and got my refund in November. What I learned, from a very nice lady at the Social Security Administration, is that the only way the IRS has of cross-referencing social security numbers is by contacting the SSA. The SSA gets these from the W-3 forms sent in by businesses every year, listing their employees, and, the woman told me, the SSA does not get them all into the computer until October or November each year. Such an efficient system, no?
