It's all about the odds, and one lone ticket in Florida has beaten them all by matching each of the numbers drawn for the highest Powerball jackpot in history at an estimated $590.5 million, lottery officials said Sunday.
The single winner was sold at a supermarket in Zephyrhills, Fla., according to Florida Lottery executive Cindy O'Connell. She told The Associated Press by telephone that more details would be released later.

CAN I REMAIN ANONYMOUS WHEN I HIT THE JACKPOT?
All but five states (DE, KS, MD, ND, OH) have laws that require the lottery to release the name and city of residence to anyone who asks. Other states may offer to assist you in some way, including such things as the creation of trusts. But generally, you will want to hire an attorney to review the laws in your state to see what options you might have. Photos and press conferences are up to you for most, but not all states. Check with your state lottery to see if photos or more are required. Most of the time, it is advisable to get it over with the press so that you don’t have one or more reporters following you around to get that “exclusive” interview. Even if you can keep your identity secret from the press and the public, you will have to be known to the lottery - so they can confirm that you are eligible to play and win.

"I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." - Barack Obama
A financial adviser who is under contract for a set annual fee that you negotiate. He sets up, with your consent, certain funds managed by the agency under a name(s) you decide on.
The first thing you do is get a Non-Disclosure Agreement NDA with the agency you decide on, after a lot of homework, before you even tell them what it is they are about to consider.
Like I said, it will be a while before you ever get to have the cash available so keep your job and don’t buy anything new or extravagant for yourself or your home. Just keep doing what you are doing now. Sometime before the claiming period ends, something like 6 months, have it all wrapped up by the 5th month. That way the press will move on to something new and by the 5th month, it is still too far away from the final claim date for the press to be snooping. By then all of the fictitious filings will be done and complete and as long as the agent is getting his annual stipend, he will keep it as secret as the law allows, unless Lois Lerner leaks it.
I won again. Another day that I can say that I did not voluntarily flush my money down a government toilet.
Congratulations. Over Half of that goes to Florida and Washington DC.
And you will forever be on the IRS audit list...
Oh if only I had those problems...lol. I didn’t buy a ticket this time. I actually forgot to.
Good luck to the winner.
Lottery: A tax on people who are bad at math.
Well you do know that Nurse you had that one night stand with about 45 years ago, dont you Daddy? :-)
You can now buy every Senator and House member and still have enough left to support FR all by yourself.
I don’t do lottery. Not because I’d have a problem with winning, or relatives- when you only have four it’s simple- but I CANNOT find a place selling them locally that isn’t run by Muslims. I’d rather not win a dime than share ANY of it with a Muslim who sold the ticket to me.
Just get the lump sum and put it in a CD. Then live off the interest.
Well, I don’t know if this will help you or not but winners don’t “ share” their winnings with the store. They are given a separate smaller payout that doesn’t come from the winner’s winnings at all.
No state income tax in Florida
