we are all crossrefrenced across many govt databases via IP addy and a number of other ways

The IP of the poster is not published. You'd need to have access to the logs of the server. I highly doubt that it's happening. FR, like almost everyone, has no obligation to keep logs.

It is technically possible to intercept incoming communications near the router that FR connects to. That would be undetectable. However I doubt that it's happening - political implications of that are well illustrated by the IRS case, and too many people of unknown party affiliation would have to know.

In case of an obvious illegality the law enforcement can get a court order and contact FR personnel. Then they can get *some* information about the poster. But even then FR cannot give what they don't have. Posters are identified by one random ID (that anyone can easily find out by reading our comments) and by a few recent IP addresses that may or may not be of use.

Hack FR and you have the IP. No offense to JR and co. but if Stratfor, a company dealing in security can be hacked, FR can be hacked. It’s just a matter of resource.

One more detail. If you are govt, you make a call to a guy at any of the core internet routers. and remind him of the favor he owes you. You have your address and lots of other info. No warrant needed and no paper trail. No one the wiser.

Nothing nefarious nor illegal is required to identify handles. No hacking necessary.

No, but attaching handles to IP addresses leads to your life. AKA a search. And that legally requires a warrant. Legally. Not that such stops Obama or any other criminal.

But at the rate our Maxist/fascist government is adding laws and regulations to the books, this is getting harder and harder to do. It’ll soon be a crime to speak out against homosexualism.

They've already trumped you on that one.

What is a bot?

Has a couple of definitions. One is, it's a Barack Obama-loving Twit.

They said I owed them five thousand dollars for painting that mural

I hate to sound stupid, but why the heck would you owe $5k in tax for a $10K job? Would be great to hear more on the IRS’ rationale or as Paul Harvey said “the rest of the story”.

I'm assuming because it was a self-employed job you had to pay the employee half & employer half of the social security tax on your earnings... yes that stings, it's why there's more right wing artists than people think. The left wing artists apparently don't bother to claim their earnings or they'd be ticked too.

But that is still too much for them to require of you - didn't you deduct anything for expenses such as tools, supplies, gas, etc?

I have often wondered how secure my person is by/from commenting on FR. It really doesn’t matter much to me because I believe I have given military and private and public service for this Nation, probably as much or more so than any Obama government goons that might give me troubles. I keep my privacy, as I like, as much as possible by using my posting name. If push comes to shove with some bureaucrat so be it. I have been in government push and shove situations before.

I no longer care. I use my real name here and on Facebook, speak my mind, and would consider it a point of distinct honor to be the first person I know hauled before a People’s Tribunal of the Obama Revolutionary Youth Brigade.

Also have some people with mega bucks place full page ads in news paper all across this country, buy some TV time, and place bill board ads to alert the American public about these and many scandals.
Rush ? Glenn Beck ? Sean Hanity ? come on guys start a national campaign to alert the people with TV ads like those political ads on TV, full page ads in News Papers, and Bill Board ads.
