In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Diktat, Noun
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

A Dem Senator on TV in hearings saying she needs to be fired. Bipartisanship. Obama finally accomplished it.
Obamacare is “The Won’s” diktat against Republicans.
In before the ping.
Sorry for the late start. Today was Tobbe’s birthday breakfast. Waitresses sang Happy Birthday and brought him a slice of Birthday Cake with a candle, while singing Happy Birthday. So cute. He turned all shy.
Class is in session now.
I usually try to pun the definition... I think I’ll pass on this one for the sake of maintaining a good reputation.
Can’t resist, though!
“Say, where did you say you got a tattoo?”
A++ Nice. Dik tat is so scary.
Finally, I restarted the computer. I wanted to correct the comment, but it was taking too long. The computer is in it’s old age. Not fast enough without restarting over and over.
Jay Carney is cornered, the slick rat
From all of the lies, Jay, you pick that?
“The changes were minor
Objections? You whiner!”
Our Leader is ruling by diktat
Yours says “Wendy.”
Mine says “Welcome to Jamaica, mon, have a nice day.”
I seem to remember a joke about a diktat; the punchline was something along the lines of “It doesn’t say ‘Wendy’ it says ‘Welcome to Maui, have a nice day’”.
Hey! Don’t I get a grade, or (at least) acknowledgement for being first in class?
Another great one. A+++
Huh. The computer had to be restarted while I was grading you. Forgot it didn’t go through. A++
TY

SOUVENIR of TICONDEROGA NEW YORK
It’s RAINING here. The forecast was for a warm and sunny day today. You just can’t trust anyone these days.
