This recent passage plus the morphing gif was discovered in a recently found book claimed to be written by Nostradamus.

Leaders of different eras of
a future global empire
More Dissimilar yet the same,
More Similar Than Different.

One speaks, stands from the left, black
as the evening sky.

His counterpart speaks from the right,
The color of snow, cold as ice, brilliant, bright, white.

Both speak with a the tongue of the serpent,
Who could hardly speak any differently, yet strangely
their actions, motives make them perfect dopplegangers
in their entwined fates.

I am tired of this comparison and slamming of Nixon. Nixon was a great president (minus China and EPA).

The same "great" president who closed the gold window, instituted wage and price controls, gave us the drug war and proposed an employer health insurance mandate, implemented the first affirmative action program and endorsed the equal rights amendment? We don't need anymore "great presidents."

Again, these were mostly the dim legislative actions. Quit blaming Nixon for McCormack’s and Carl Albert’s agenda.

We can continue to correct Nixon’s reputation while telling the truth about the bad parts.

Are you telling me that those people marched into the oval office, put a gun to tricky dick’s head and ordered him to sign those executive orders and bills? If not, then he did that all on his own. But if you want to carry his water for all those liberal big govermnet activities, knock yourself out. Just make sure you’re not complaining about big government anymore.

I guess the concept of veto override and threat of is beyond your comprehension. I am old enough to remember, and it happened plenty. There is plenty of blame for big government, mainly FDR, JFK, and LBJ, with Nixon who was much less at fault. Was he Reagan? Nope, but he was a whole lot better than so called conservative Freepers are trying to make him.

Ho wdo you leave FDR out of that gorup?

The guys I listed F'd things up in less than 8 years, some less than 4. You've got to give extra points for efficiency.

I don’t recall anything in the constitution requiring a president to sign a bill if he thinks there are enough votes to override a veto. He signed them. He. Owns. Them. But I guess over the past few years the word conservative has been gleefully redifined to mean all out support of big, unlimited government over reach in whatever area someone with an R next to his name feels like engaging in.

Nixon was a great president (minus China and EPA).

And Blackmun.
And wage and price controls.
And Kissinger.

Still better than McGovern.

To me, the Nostradamus quote just doesn't read like his style.

Somene mentioned spoiled brats. There are plenty here on FR, forever petulantly demanding perfection in their leaders. Pascal was right, we are neither angels nor beasts, just men. It is the Living God who stands firmly in charge of all history, allowing or preventing according to HIS will. We aren’t puppets, but neither are we self-contained entities.

There is mystery here, but suffice it to say human problems cannot be traced to any leader but Adam, who represented all humanity in his disobedience and consequent fall. Political structure is not salvific, only remedial as a brake on evil men in this present age.

The Founders did not offer us Eden. Or ease. Where did so many spoiled brats get the idea that they did?

The Department of Education, EPA, and more.

Education was Jimmy Carter's. It was part of HEW under Nixon, and predates him.

You don’t fault a termite for trying to destroy a house, that is what it does. But when the homeowner does the same thing everyone knows he is an idiot.

As a student of Nostradamus’s quatrains, this looks like a very poor attempt to mimick his style. It’s a fake.

Nostradamus couldn’t see the future, either.

This Nostradamus sample is clearly a fake, and a poor one at that. Written by someone just barely familiar with Nostradamus’s style.

You’re right.

"None of the “quote” of Nostradamus shows on any search engine."

I've read some of the quatrains and not once have I ever come across:

Superbowl Champions

World Soccer Scores/Winners

Triple Crown Winners

World Series/Any Year And so on.

So, I get kinda' iffy on Nostradamus. If there is any reference to the quatrains, please let me know!

Why nothing on sports quatrains, or even lottos...

But, maybe something is there and I don't see it...... *snicker*
