I have to say, I did not see this one coming at all. It's one thing to revive a series that's been dormant for many years, like TNT has done successfully with Dallas, but has there ever been a case of a show coming back only four years after it ended?
But hey, I'm not a TV programming executive and I don't want to be. Hands up if you want to see Jack back! Entertainment Weekly reports:
For 24 miniseries/limited series, were hearing Fox is actually currently looking at a 13-episode order for the show. For a cable series, thats actually a full season (heck, for HBOsGame of Thrones, its more than a full season). So that would be a pretty significant potential order to bring back Bauer.
Fox had no comment. Hopefully there will be clarity at the networks upfront presentation Monday.
Of course, a 13-episode order does raise the question: Will 24 continue in its real-time format, but just follow Bauer over the course of 13 hours? That would sort of botch the title, though, right? Or will Bauer face another 24-hour adventure, but the narrative will skip time? It would be great to see Bauer get on L.A.s 405 freeway at the end of one episode and arrive at his destination two hours later at the start of the next episode now that would be realistic action!

Yeah, didn’t Jack practically convert to Islam?
Probably won’t be any water boarding, but maybe they will feature another black president - the one currently residing in the White Hut, and show Jack Bauer single-handedly going after him and bringing down his evil empire.
Who knows? Maybe Serenity is next?
I think that if the 13 season can wrap up any loose ends, that would be ok.
If Jack is back (and the same man) he would have the White House and state dept talking in 60 minutes. I hope Chloe and Renee come back.
Why they ever stopped this show is beyond me. I know, liberals hated it. That IS the reason we should keep it. I don’t watch any of those stupid reality shows or dancing showing. Some people have no lives when they have to watch others living their lives.
Amen, totally agree!
I've moved on to something with a better story arc: Justified. Fewer episodes per season, but doesn't try to do a happens-in-real-time format. Some pretty good shockers, too, both in revelations and action.
Still, I'd look in on 24 if they brought it back and it had Keifer playing Bauer. No Sutherland/Bauer, no watching for me.
If it’s the same tone, I’ll love it. I never really cared about the time sequencing stuff...
Some of the best times EVER on FR were the live threads during 24. THAT’s something I’d love to enjoy again.
24 was the best show ever on TV every one I know that watched it couldn’t get enough! I hope they bring it back but yea keifer needs to play jack!
I have a feeling we won’t like the resurrected series.
Jack will be water boarding a character named Parah Saylin and shooting up a meeting of the Pea Party.
You know, the REAL enemies of America.
Let’s see. “24”, a show that highlighted the actions of one committed, American, anti-terror agent against those who are trying to destroy the freedom and security of the United States. An agent who did whatever it took to protect American citizens and our way of life. A courageous man who went after whoever and whomever it was that was creating the danger, even those in the highest levels of government.
If the new 24 will have any realistic credibility at all, what arch enemy will Jack have to pursue? Who has been the most effective enemy of the United States, that has destroyed more freedoms, that has killed more Americans through abortion and ill-conceived policies, that is threatening the economic stability of the nation, that is dividing the nation racially, economically, ideologically, even leading that nation to the brink of economic and societal collapse, an enemy who uses government agencies and military weapons against American citizens? Who could that enemy be??
No he did not. Them's fightin' words....lol.
Maybe the 13 hour format will give Bauer time to hit the crapper and buy some donuts during the course of the 24 hours. That’s how I’d explain it anyway.
No, this time Jack will be settling it with those bitter clingers...
screw fox and screw 24 and screw kiefer.
That would be too good to be true.
another season of “24”??????
BE STILL MY HEART!
Who has the “24” ping!? ALERT! ALERT!
“We’re running out of time!”
I’m sorry, I don’t know.
