ATLANTA,- U.S. cable new outlet CNN marked National Pet Week by saying, among other pet-related statistics, an estimated $55.5 billion will be spent on U.S. pets in 2013.
CNN said 82.5 million U.S. households had pets in 2012 and $55.53 billion is expected to be spent on pets by U.S. residents in 2013.
A 2011 survey suggested 63.2 percent of pet owners in 2011 considered their pets to be members of the family.
The network said 70 percent of respondents in a 2006 Gallup poll identified themselves as "dog people." Twenty percent said they prefer cats.
However, there were 70 million pets dogs in the United States in 2012, compared with 74.1 million pet cats the same year.

In our declining America pets are valued higher than children.. I first ran into that fact when my then infant daughter become sick and her pediatrician bill was less than my veterinarian bill.

We have had a Persian cat for eight years. “Buddy” is icy and aloof. Then about four weeks ago, my wife walked into the house with a three month old Cockepoo. I am infamous in my family for being a dog ignorer. But when she dropped “Bailey” on my lap, I melted. I even pick up his droppings while walking him.

Bailey has tan ears and the rest of his fur is the same color as a shot of Baileys Irish Creme. Hence the name.

The picture of the soldier with the itty bitty tiny kitty touched my heart.
My iPad has tears all over the screen. Not to mention falling down my nose on to my lap where my kitty is falling on her fur.

Lynn-DAH-The-Dog had a great treat today. We went to a bunch of Yard sales together, then we went to TWO Dog Parks, then we went to a birthday party o0f a store i do business with, where she was given water and a piece of cheese. Then we got the car washed and came home.
She is now sound asleep at my feet as I FReep.

It would depend on what was done — in both the vet’s office as well as the doctor’s. Also, assuming you have medical insurance, your bill would definitely be less than that at the vet’s (even if you had vet insurance there as well since you have to pay up front and then send the bill in to the company). I would not consider a bill for less at the doctor’s than the vet’s to be confirmation of anything other than that. Hope your daughter is better.
