Didn't Thompson testify that when he called up the chain he was told that FEST as an option,...was taken off the Menu....but I am guessing it was some committee meeting on the crisis.

Issa's House committee neds to dig into that one...just what committee and where in the H**L was Obama....I know we all know,...he was leaving it to the lower levels to deal with the nasty decisions.

Answer is yes. I heard it with my own ears viewing the hearing. His statement was quite clear. No ambiguity.

Having a terrorist response team respond to an event means that the event is a terrorist event.

Sending FEST to Benghazi would have been a declaration of a terrorist attack. A terrorist attack on the One’s watch two months before election day. Can’t have that.

I do not believe this administration wanted a ‘fight’ within the confines of their weapons depot. Other than ‘MANPADS’ none of Gaddafi's weapons of mass destruction has been mentioned since this terrorist attack took place. Toooo much explaining to be done if there had been a big fire in Benghazi. (my opinion of course)...

Political calculation is probably right on the money.

It's kinder than thinking they did everything possible to deny them even minimum defense capabilities because they were trying to get them all killed. Which isn't hard to do looking back on the long list of things done to deny them a defense.
