If there hasnt been a Color Run 5k or 10k race near you, there probably will be soon. And with all that color, you certainly want to take some pictures, right? Not with your camera you dont.
Im never one to worry much about lens dust, but the color bombs they throw out at Color Runs are different. In the last month my lens rental business has had over 20 lenses and several cameras nearly ruined by these things. For what its worth, all of the renters tell us they really werent near any of the major color bombs.

LOL!
There is no way I would take a DSLR in that. At most a disposable pocket camera would be used by me.
Just thinking, but how about the underwater rig? They’re really expensive, but for a pro maybe in stock already?
You will be arrested and put in The Color Run jail if more than 11.8% of your clothing is a hue other than white.
I see "Color Run" is traid marked. I hate this thing in 100 ways.
From their website:
Do the kilometer Color Zones affect runner vision? Or breathing?
The Color Run explosions are basically food grade cornstarch and are 100% natural and SAFE. As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes and our certified color throwers make sure to aim low as you pass by. Some Color Runners opt to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for their mouths. As shown on the about page the middle lane is the low color lane, which offers a lighter color experience. In summary: We work pretty hard to make it so our precious Color Runners get as much or as little color on them as they like.
I prefer a good mud run.
But then again I’ve always liked getting down and dirty.
I don’t understand why all the bashing... the Color Run that was held here in Dallas donated the proceeds to the American Heart Association. I personally, don’t see that as a bad thing at all.
Down here in Texas, we call them "Democrats".
After reading the comments, I am reluctant to admit that my daughter “asked” me to participate in one of these runs in Wichita this past weekend. I was very hesitant to to it as my bias fell in line with the majority of comments on this thread.
I bit my tongue and did it. It was a self-paced, non-timed 5 K run. All in all, it was good time with my daughter.
The proceeds were/are supposedly for the Ronald McDonald House in Wichita.
Pop up flashes are a point of entry for a lot of crud, I made the mistake of using the flash outdoors and it bit me. I use an accessory flash now and keep the pop up disabled.
Not something I would have even thought of. Thanks.
Thank you! Very interesting thread. I never heard of this before.
I had not either, I just stay out here in the swamp where sanity rules.
I really enjoy your photos. They look very professional, and you’re good at composition and subject matter as well. I probably don’t tell you often enough. [smiles]
FR has very much become a herd mentality.
And 80% plus of the posters don't read the underlying story.
It's not like it was 10-12 yrs ago.
The dumbing down has been apparent for a few years, but it’s still valuable for the alert postings.
When only 75% plus of the posters didn't read the underlying story? :-)
Colored Run? Shouldn’t it be “African-American Run”?
I’ve just got to figure out how to get out of here more often.
I agree.
Fag version of a paint ball tournament?
