U.S. News and World Report noted yesterday:
[The IRS] will use in robo-audits and data mining [and] it has told government and industry groups that its computers are capable of scanning multiple networks at the same time to collect matching comprehensive profiles for every taxpayer in America. Such profiles will likely include shopping records, travel, social interactions and information not available to the public, such as health records and files from other government investigators, according to IRS documents.

Use cash. Barter. Garage sales.
Delete Facebook.
Buy gold and silver.
Well so much for HIPPA, but this Administration has always acted as if the American people are their Serfs and that they are above and beyond our laws.
ATF has an entry in fbo.gov to purchase a very similar tracking system.
Debit and credit cards leave a trail of where you were, when you were there, and what you bought. That convenience has exposed you all. Think about it.
The previous poster that recommended cash was dead on.
Been that way for a looooong time, not just with the current criminals in DC.
Your neighborhood informant is probably included in the “social interaction” category.
Problem with a file on the computer is it doesn’t have a “valid” flag. Much of the ‘information’ is NOT RIGHT!
I agree. I slip up and use cards out of convenience but I need to quit doing that. Also the cards that stores make you use to get sales, etc. track your every purchase and they have been used in law enforcement.
The IRS and its CPA “tax professional” partners have already begun doing that. It’s quite a racket for the CPAs. They rake in lots of moola from people who otherwise wouldn’t even be required to file a return. Now that’s socialism. It’ll go on, until federal tax judges, the Public Integrity Section and others are ready to get hold of some of the gangstas in government and private (well, not so private now) offices.
What will it take for us SLAVES to push back?
Where do we draw the line? When do we tell these lame mother fu**ers to stick it up their asses?
When will we we take our country back, America?
For years we’ve been drawing the line and them moving it. Are we going to keep moving it until it’s in the far left end of the field?
I have been using the same grocery reward card for almost 12 years now in Texas. My mom who died almost 11 years ago applied for it when she was visiting me one time and joined me at the grocery store. Said she wanted to get one to serve as an example of how to be save some money. She used her Rural Route address in Missouri and knew she had to fill in a local phone number, didn’t have one so just made one up. She did use her true birthday though and, if living, would be 105 now.
I lost the card long ago but did remember the phone number and so just give it to the clerk when I shop there so still get my discounts. Even though I always pay cash for my purchases, I have occasionally thought about calling that phone number to find out who it really belongs to but haven’t.
I have never used any form of debit card when it comes to groceries. ALL CASH.
Just got sick of all these idiots who hold up the line and they could not even remember their PIN and even could not swipe their card the right way.
The IRS told me that my son’s ex-wife’s use of food stamps for her kids was proof that the kids lived with her and therefore she was entitled to the EITC and not my son. When I told them that she had committed food stamp fraud by claiming the kids they adamantly told me that it doesn’t matter.
Good thing you’re not purchasing items to be used in a crime, ou could get someone in touble.
Just groceries and gas. Granny’s are harmless - don’t you know! I did restock the wine cabinet last month though - pretty good price if you buy 12 bottles at once.
