Roses for Mama
I miss her so very much.
I'm not getting what I want for Mothers day, all I asked for was portraits of my boys. All I got was a card. So I don't feel well about this Mothers day.

Morning, Folks! Happy Mother's Day, a blessed Sunday, and ...
oh, yeah, I brought you this picture.
It's not a complete picture, of course. Kind of a big subject, if you know what I mean.
In His Image
Our god is not a dolphin,
Who listens for a call,
Of vocal tears, and patient years,
And distant voices all,
Our god is not a dweller,
In oceans far from lands,
To make us in His image,
He had to give us hands.
Our god is not an eagle,
In tumbled vaults He soars,
Who hears our laments drifting up,
Like lowing herbivores,
Who travels in a lonely state,
And views all He commands,
To make us in His image,
He had to give us hands.
Our god is not a crocodile,
Who knows He will be fed,
Who patiently appoints Himself,
Along the river bed,
Not He a god that slithers,
And awkwardly, He stands,
To make us in His image,
He had to give us hands.
Our god is not an alien,
In silent ship above,
A being without linking,
Or likingness, or love,
Our god is not a bearded one,
Who dwells in far-off lands,
To make us in His image,
He had to give us hands.

Seasons Of Life
May 12, 2013
When I was a pastor, I served many women who were moms. I called on them in the hospital and rejoiced with them for their precious babies who had come into the world. I counseled with anxious mothers and tried to assure them that God was watching over their rebellious teenagers. I stood with mothers at the bedside of injured or ill children and felt their pain. And I cried with them in their grief when their son or daughter died.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, also experienced times of joy and sorrow. What joy she must have felt when the Christ-child was born! (Luke 2:7). What excitement when the shepherds and later the wise men came to worship Him (vv.8-20; Matt. 2:1-12). What uneasiness when Simeon prophesied that a sword would pierce her soul (Luke 2:35). And what heart-wrenching grief as Mary watched her Son dying on the cross! (John 19:25-30). But her seasons of being a mother didnt end with that terrible scene. She rejoiced that He rose from the grave.
Mothers, and all of us for that matter, experience many great joys and intense sorrows. But when we submit our lives to the Lord, every season of life can serve His eternal purposes.
Thank You, Lord, for motherhood
With all its vale of tears,
For happy moments never dimmed
Through all the many years. Strecker
Being a mom is a sacred partnership with God.

It seems pretty obvious that God has hands. I mean, the clues are all right there, you know. We know He’s a builder.
He sent His son to live in a carpenter’s family.
And then there was the time Jesus hired a blind man to help him with a building project, and the blind man picked up Jesus’ hammer and saw!
...
(Strange though. I wasn’t aware they used blinds as window treatments back then.)

And yet, when mankind tried to build the Tower of Babel, God put the Kaibosh on that! :-)
God asks us to be His Hands to glorify him, not ourselves.
Great point about Carpentry!
Ever notice how much trees and wood come up in Scripture?
The tree in the Garden of Eden.
The branch that sweetened the Waters of Meribah.
Moses’ Staff
The “Righteous Branch” in Zechariah
Jesus as a carpenter
The Cross
The Tree of Life in Revelation.
Interesting...(Not that I am a tree Hugger! LOL!)

For further reference, regarding carpentry, there's
this. I didn't want to post it here today, (being Mother's Day); it's for a different season.
