Latvia has quite a few sink holes and caverns below. This is probably the ground eroded beneath that goes down into a cavern.

Wow... I don’t think I would’ve been standing that close on the shore to that. Pretty amazing seeing the huge chunks of ice and debris disappear like that.
Still... That’s nothing compared to what happened to Lake Peigneur. Of course that lake, and the trees, and even barges sunk into a salt mine.
