Family ripped from their home at gunpoint; Police storm the property looking for terrorists
Live Leak ^ | April 20, 2013 | Staff

Friday, April 19, 2013, during a manhunt for a bombing suspect, police and federal agents spent the day storming people's homes and performing illegal searches. While it was unclear initially if the home searches were voluntary, it is now crystal clear that they were absolutely NOT voluntary. Police were filmed ripping people from their homes at gunpoint, marching the residents out with their hands raised in submission, and then storming the homes to perform their illegal searches.

This was part of a larger operation that involved total lockdown of the suburban neighbor to Boston. Roads were barricaded and vehicle traffic was prohibited. A No-Fly Zone was declared over the town. People were "ordered" to stay indoors. Businesses were told not to open. National Guard soldiers helped with the lockdown, and were photographed checking IDs of pedestrians on the streets. All the while, police were performing these disgusting house-to-house searches.

Are there any limits to this authority?

What does " according to our Constitution and judicial system" mean to you?

Quite literally, you said that the Constitution and judicial system are what accord authority to the government.

I'm asking if the authority that is, as you say, accorded to the government thereby is limited, or not.

Does not the U.S. Constitution and judicial system limit the authority of government?

Yes, thank you.

Oldmissileer must be code for “Sage” as in “Sage Advice”

Sir. You are too kind. Thank you.

I took my Oath of Enlistment and my Oath of Commission seriously.

I studied WWII and the onset of Communism in Junior High School and just kept reading. The more I read the more I understood and loved our Founding Fathers and our Country.

I tried to do what I could with what resources I had within me and I would do so again in a heartbeat.

Take care.

“Very disturbing.” Indeed. The statements of the opponent speak “We had to destroy the village in order to save it” as to the misapplication of ‘exigent circumstances’ and the disregard for the safety of the public. Pointing loaded weapons at folks without cause is assault with a deadly weapon in my book when done without a perceived visible threat and is unlawful use of force under the color of law. As deployed in this instance it appeared as if law enforcement was clearing a village in VN. This used to be done differently by men who knew what the risk was and held the safety and the treatment of the public paramount above all. What I witnessed was citizens having guns pointed at them and threats loudly voiced indicating they had better comply. Personally I would have refused and demanded a warrant before complying regardless of the guns and the yelling. But that’s just me. EV et al may do as they please. I’m older and the knees refuse to bend even more than in my youth.

The truly sad aspect of all of this is the credence law enforcement claims from every person who yields to unlawful acts by those who are ignorant of their rights.

Cheers.

Well as much as I despise the Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Lee, Waters, etc., they are elected representatives of your country and state, if indeed you are a Californian.

That’s why we have a Constitution: basic principles enacted and adhered to FOR A REASON - even if it seems unclear why at the moment.

Conservatism is the understanding that some lessons are hard-won and worth following even if you don’t grasp why.

Members of my family and extended family are LEO's, State Police, one attorney, and a Deputy District Attorney, a brother in law a Deputy Sheriff and brother in law who is a Battalion Fire Chief. Habeas Corpus was not rescinded and the search was not one of pursuit. The manner in which many of those searches were conducted were illegal, based upon expert opinion and from those that serve and protect and oversee and advise or instruct others that due. They got away with this in Boston so far, but lawsuits may be pending when people calm down.

I can tell you in the part of California I live in the Law Enforcement Community would not execute such actions to protect their officers and the public for fear of being shot, but they felt no fear in the near gun free zone of Boston, plain and simple.

That was well said.

I appreciate people who understand the difference between tyranny under the color of law and a respect for liberty under Constitutional law.

Clearly there are those even here who do not see the difference.

I seem to recall an incident in New Orleans and southern Louisianna, where LEOs systematically disarmed everyone in the hurricane devastation of the NO suburbs. And if memory serves, the LEOs ina small Alabama town brought in NG to shut that town down for a spell for some law infracvtion purpose. But then I also recall hearing about a town in West Georgia which got shut down by a military whopper over some of his troop being jailed after partaking of the liquor and women being sold in that little Georgia town tot he partying troopers from Alabama. Oh yeah, and in Tennessee, the citizens once took over the election results when criminal politicians tried to stuff the ballot boxes. Ain’t America a grand experiment? I think about that little Tennessee town nearly every time I clean my rifles and shotguns after practicing with same.
