Just an observation:
I searched FR for the word terrorist just now; I only got 12 hits for posts since Monday. This mostly included returns on 'keywords' entered by posters, rather than posted text or comments.
I performed the same search for the word "bombing" and stopped counting after 60. Most, if not all, of those are as a result of the use of the term in the headline or excerpt.
I post this observation in the wake of remembrance of this administration being lambasted for labeling the Ft. Hood shootings as "workplace violence" vs. a "terrorist attack".
A majority of those posting online, even in conservative circles, seem to be subconsciously towing the Media line of the "Boston Bombings" and the "Boston Bombing Suspects".
I performed a similar search of a dozen major MSM news websites' home pages and noted ONLY ONE used the word "terrorist" in its reporting (it wasn't Fox).
I'm not going to preach to anyone; again, this is just an observation...
A terrorist is a terrorist no matter how they claim it to be.
Wouldn’t the Boston Marathon bombing be “Leisureplace Violence” or something?
He’s a terrorist who is suspected of bombing....
One of us has way too much time on his hands. Me for reading or you for writing.
Mod: I’m not getting a preview window on posts anymore.
Addendum to above: Ft. Hood was a TERRORIST attack. Our soldiers deserve combat pay for that incident and all the benefits thereof, without doubt.
Boston was a TERRORIST attack, perpetrated by at least two Muslim individuals, not disgruntled former military or remnants of the so-called ‘political right’ or, as I’m referred to by my government because of my political views, “right-wing extremists”.
I just wanted that clear for the record. IMHO.
I wouldn’t read too much into it, most I’m sure don’t think too much about entering keywords. I usually just use the words in the article title.
However, if you search like this, you yield 6,700+ results.
Surprised they didn’t call him a ‘chef’ with his use of pressure cookers.
Most FReepers just say “Muslim” now.
Does the FR search engine not like warm and fuzzy Muzzy love terms?
Yeah, but EVERYONE I’ve spoken to about it since Monday refers to it as “the bombing”; I’m the only one around here using the word TERRORIST.
It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if that’s common everywhere. Hence my post. If FR (and others) is just going to parrot MSM bias without challenge, then why comment at all?
This is more than just a pattern; it’s psychology and, in my view, it’s working.
Search jihadist prick.
Well your search wasn't too thorough... I found a lot, here's just a few:
Homegrown Caucasian Terrorists
Boston PD Omit Race of Terrorists
idiot immigration laws that let these terrorists in
Making Citizens out of Terrorists
We all know these men were indeed terrorists. But despite that the term did get used, as in 'Muslim terrorists Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his older brother, Tamerlan.' in a recent post - liberal media has studiously avoided the term, far more so than FReepers have.
Did you search under “man caused disasters”?
They maybe using that other term ? but guess what ? now they are forced to use the term “ Terrorist “ .
What happened was two bombs blew up so we wrote about bombs blowing up - two terorists did not blow up.
You haven’t been here long enough to write diddly.
Since these perps were tied to the group doing the Beslan School Massacre I looked up the wiki story on that 2004 incident.
I noticed some suspicious editing was done TODAY Apr 19, 2013.
Every occurrence of word terrorist was removed. Replaced with the likes of hostage-takers and militants
DONE EARLIER TODAY.
big fyi.
Simply amazing, revisionist rewriting of history.
Just an observation:
I searched your post for the word MONSTROUS just now; I got zero hits in your post.
I’m not going to preach to you; again, this is just an observation...
